The Gray Council, pt. 2
The study was exactly where Lauriel—Verandis—remembered it.
It was not in much better shape than the rest of the castle, simply there, as if time had somehow decided to be gentler in neglecting it. Cobwebs draped everything like thick curtains. A desk sat against the wall, its surface coated in dust.
Gwendis stepped first through the door. Lauriel followed, noting that it was, in fact, the exact door from the dream-walk, hanging slightly crooked on its frame.

She counted out the shots, and hoped that she was correct in guessing that they'd need to reload soon. Once she heard the gunfire stop, she leaped over the busted up crates she was hiding behind to get closer to the goons firing on her. Leah snatched the gun out of one of the criminal's hands, tossing it to the side, then she shoved the man into his ally, sending the two stumbling backwards.
The heroine then dropped low and knocked them off of their feet with a well placed sweeping kick. With the goons on the ground, Leah delivered a knockout punch to each of their faces, making sure to hold back, not wanting to kill either of these men, regardless of the fact that they would not share her
