Need A Bit Of Inspiration?

Sometimes it's a bit hard to get your writing started. Just remember that by writing: you're creating something that wasn't there before.

Here's some quotes that may (or may not) help, if you have any personal favorites, let me know and I will add it onto the list!!!

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.
-Benjamin Franklin

There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.
-Ernest Hemingway

You fail only if you stop writing.
-Ray Bradbury

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
― Maya Angelou

“You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write.”
― Saul Bellow

“Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass.”
― Anton Chekhov

“Fiction is the truth inside the lie.”
― Stephen King

“History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.”
― Winston S. Churchill

GreenarsedAn ecosystem
has become your abode,
who cares if your walls
start photosynthesising
and blooming humus
out of your floor
may the kumbayas
take you to your
new age
as your wallet
makes atmosphereless planets
look alive in comparison

Crossroad DecisionsDo not fear the dark and
Unknown,
For the Sky watches over us all
Tonight.
Smiling down upon the planet we call
Home,
The moon its smile and the stars its
Eyes.
Shining and illuminating the mysterious
Passage,
For those that are courageous enough to
Walk
Down the unfamiliar path of less traveled and
Adversity.

StarlitCrushed sheets
mix with the smell
of candles
and
a thin sweat,
who's partnership
with the tingling
of my skin,
paints a vivid picture
of untold beauty.
Love.
This feeling
excites
then relaxes
every part
of my soul,
overwhelms
my misguided mind
and allows the discovery
of a place
where only we
may travel to
...
Where the clear skies
and undisturbed waters
that surround us
meet
at a distance
further than any eye
can ever see.
Our tiny rowing boat
floats
above innumerable stars,
until
the waters' reflection
and sky
seamlessly unite.
A place
of such purity
where the only sounds
that we can hear
are those
satisfying noises
that are our own.
Together,
we sit
within the pools of our love,
as I gently
run my fingers
thorough your hair.
We watch,
as the universe
and all its glory
passes us by,
fading
into the distance.
We close our eyes
before the darkness comes,
knowing
that like all things,
we will share it
together.

A Journey for a FriendI was standing in a pool of light, but I wasn’t in the light yet. Death came first, there were many other doors of death but I had found the only one that let you out into the light. Every other tunnel of this life led to doors marked death but if taken those doors led only to fire and pain. I was almost into the ultimate happiness, the door to death and eternal life was closed but it opened every once in a while to admit certain people. An angel brushed past me with a little baby’s spirit in her arms and as she passed the child giggled and reached one pudgy hand up to pull her flaming hair. I met a few other people waiting for death and they told me that the majority of people who had found this door were back in the dark tunnels, among the dark people, trying to lead them back to this door. I shivered,
“But what if the door opens for them while they’re gone?”
“They go to bring other people under the Doorkeeper’s orders, if the door opens for

All of these pieces had their own, individual charm.  They all are a good, quick read.  On another note, one of our members is experimenting with a novel idea:  here is the outline-

in one of the other groups i'm in they have a topic every week. its completely optional to write about it but you could write a poem or a story or really anything on that topic and submit it to a folder marked "weekly challenge" and then they choose one person who they decided wrote the best thing and put it in the featured folder. i thought it might be fun if this group did that too! :) just a suggestion. btw this is an awesome group!!!

It sounds like a great idea!  We could do that every Sunday after we get a few more members that way there is more participation.

I've written a ton of stuff I'd like to submit to your group. Before I go crazy, is there a limit to how much I can submit in a week/month? :) I don't want to break any rules.

Also, how does someone go about getting featured?

Currently, there is no limit to how many you can submit.  All and any amount of writing is welcome.

The feature folder is being reserved for future contest winners, and other special opportunities.

Hey, I've self-published two novels of my own. If you try to feature them in a journal, I'll submit some works and invite more people!
