Gryphon by Crazy-Dragon Gryphon by Crazy-Dragon
Griffon, gryphon.
Ah, I said I would draw one for someone so here it is. Sorry I can't remember who it is who wanted one because it was quite awhile ago.
Enjoy.

No one said it HAD to be eagle first then lions feet, to me lions feet first makes more sense for landing and holding up its body.

But wouldn it make for sense to have lion feet at the back to help it take off better?

Or better to have lion feet at the front to land better?
Lol win/lose situation no?

i like how the talons are the hindlegs! I usually see them the other way around. The face is adorable.

sweet gryphon/griffin. the only thing is that i always have seen them with the eagle legs in front, and then the whole back of the body is a lion, including the tail. the only reason i noticed is because im used to having them look all muscular in the back.

Yeah I accidentally switched it around not even thinking about what they are SUPPOSED to look like. The tail was definatly on purpose, I find it's prolly more useful in flight with feathers than a lion tail.

ya, good point about the tail. but again, he looks a little thin in the back, because im used to big powerful lion legs.

Although it's a gryphon, I can't help but think 'RAWR' when I look at it.

Interesting color combination. I applaud you for going the reverse -- most gryphons are portrayed with bird fore and leonine hind. Very few go in the opposite direction.

He looks rather annoyed at something. ^^

Yeah but cars have heaters, unless the gryphon is really warm then I guess you're ok.

I like the idea with the switched legs. Usually they are drawn with avian forelegs. :)

Definitely a proud-looking beast, great work with colored pencils(?)

The spelling used in the title definitely fits the creature better.
