Hey everyone, I'm Alex Martel, a tall bearded bloke from Québec, Canada. I'm a graphic designer by profession but a comic book artist by heart. I'm currently doing a comic called "The Slashers" that both parodies and pays hommage to horror movies, classics and not so classics. Rest assured that they're NOT drawn in a chibi/manga style (I consider my style much more European than anything else. Comics like Astérix, Achilles Talon and Kid Paddle were big influences), and the characters don't behave COMPLETELY differently from their movie counterparts. I've finally gotten the itch to draw again. Feels good. Things have been going great at work, and I managed to create good designs and never looked too long at a blank page, but it was different at home. I hadn't felt motivated about anything for a while. Not just art, but other hobbies and projects as well. I'm not gonna dwelve too far into the details, but I went through a lot of self doubt. I didn't think my comics were that good. I've always had some natural talent at it, and I still believe most of them are pretty funny and the ideas behind them are rather novel/unique, but as far as the art itself went, I wasn't feeling satisfied. I'm gone and leave you updateless for what seems like forever, and you're still reading, commenting and faving the comics. Thanks for the support, you readers are amazing! I don't really have any good excuse for not putting out comics for so long other than I've been working about as much as home as I've been at the day job for months, so whenever I had SOME free time, I just felt like spending it with my girlfriend, friends or Minecraft. The Slashers are definitely not dead. Perhaps they've been in a state of suspended animation for a good while, but not dead.
