(DDLC) Monika - Confirmation by Coyotemation (DDLC) Monika - Confirmation by Coyotemation
More misadventures in drawing. In this version: Monika.
This time without the aid of DesignDoll for a reference pose. Just sketched it out from scratch. Plus, I feel like I'm getting better at shading hair. Not good yet, but better!

Anyhoo, might do the others eventually. Honestly though, Yuri and Monika are the best characters anyway, so maybe not. We'll see. I'M HAVING FUN, GUYS.

ALSO, FUNFACT: Drawn entirely on the 10.5" iPad Pro in ProCreate. Got one this Monday and it's absolutely, by far, the best tablet I've ever used and I'm INCLUDING the 13" Wacom Cintiq I used to own. It's a bit odd to work on a glass display I suppose, but I heard there's some screen protectors you can get that fix that.

i would start with primitive shape for the head and with the lines showing the eye and nose/mouth alignment
on your drawing, the proportions are a bit off, along with the general shape of her head when viewed from 3/4 angle(the game's artstyle has a strange face shape style too though)
also i believe her ears should be at least poking from below her hair because when it doesnt it seems to me like it's probably placed too close to her eye...
i've drawn the head the way i would over your drawing, maybe it would help a bit delete her by EclipsedVisions

I actually did use primitive shapes, but I didn't really refine the shape of it. Good tips on the face in general though, I kept thinking something was off but I couldn't figure out what. Guess I need to work more on the line-placements on the eyes/nose/mouth.
As for the ear, that's a good catch. For some reason I went blind to that when I was looking at the reference images I used for colors, I didn't pick up that the ears were actually poking through so I didn't add it to my own.

Thanks!
