Here's my jack-o'-lantern for 2015.
For those not familiar, it's "BB-8" from the soon to be released "Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens".
A definite departure from my usual carvings, the idea for this one was 100% Alwyn-Mallory 's.
We had been looking over the new Star Wars merchandise earlier in October when he suggested, in passing, that BB-8 would make a really cute jack-o'-lantern. I agreed, but shuddered at the thought of amount of carving that it would require.
Still, I could not get the thought of a BB-8 pumpkin out of my head, and by the middle of the month I had decided to take the plunge and give it a shot!
Luckily, I was able to snag the only medium-sized white pumpkin our local orchard had left.
It was a lot of work, and there are several errors, but I'm very pleased with how this one turned out.
I don't know if I'll ever do anything this complex ever again (as it is two pumpkins with 360 degree carvings), but it was a fun challenge.
