Rush Hour by Cosmic-Cuttlefish Rush Hour by Cosmic-Cuttlefish
My attempt at making a busy night-time city scene. For the colours, I was inspired by Midgar from Final Fantasy VII.

Made with Apophysis 7X.

Very interesting idea, great picture and title!

P.S. After reading your comment below, I agree completely that titles are very important for abstract art (sometimes I like to think they are "half" the piece), and I'm also spending a lot of time trying to find ones... Also on many occasions, finding the title made me modify the fractal (sometimes completely), they really go hand in hand! :-)

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts - it's always interesting to hear how other people's creative processes work, and it sounds like we have some similar ideas in that sense. :) I've always liked fractal cityscapes with lots of small details, so it was an interesting and fun challenge!

I like how this fractal manages to indeed evoke the mental image of a busy, futuristic metropolis while still being very abstract on a certain level. The shapes really remind me of highways and skyscrapers. You have a great imagination, along with a great talent for choosing good colour schemes, titles and descriptions for your works.

Thank you very much - that's kind of you to say. I find thinking of a good title is one of the most difficult things to do (perhaps surprisingly). I've always thought it's one of the most important parts too, though, especially with abstract art. Although unfortunately, it means that I still have a few mostly-finished ones lying around that I haven't posted yet.

I've been really enjoying Paul Kenton's cityscape paintings since I saw some in a local gallery, by the way. They're very inspiring, and worth taking a look if you like that sort of thing. :)
