Another photomanipulation, done on January 14th, 2009.

Wow... it's been a long time since I've last made a wolf manip, and I figured that it was about time. :D This may just be one of my best manips, yet; I LOVE how it turned out. This manip is dedicated to the amazing wolf fantasy novel, "The Sight", by David Clement-Davies. Due to the recommendations of fellow deviantART users, I just couldn't pass up the chance to buy "The Sight" when I saw it on display in the Barnes and Noble book store during a recent shopping trip at the Cape Girardeau mall, and I most definitely don't regret my purchase. The book was AMAZING; possibly one of the best books I've ever read. I recommend it to anyone who loves wolves, fantasy, and drama, as the book has all of that, along with twists of mythology, religion, magical themes, and darker themes, but the story just goes so much deeper than all of that.

Anyway, this is the leading protagonist of "The Sight", Larka, a female Transylvanian timber wolf with a pure white coat and golden eyes who was born with the mysterious power of the Sight. The Sight grants Larka healing powers, allows her to see visions of the past and future when looking into still bodies of water, and it also allows her to see the world through the eyes of other creatures (particularly, birds), and to feel what they are feeling. The Sight is also part of an ancient and powerful prophecy that is the main focus of the book, but that's all I will say, as I wouldn't want to spoil the story for people who haven't read the book, yet. lol

Anyway, because of the fantasy of the book, and because a lot of the story takes place during the Transylvanian winter, I figured that a magical-looking, surreal, winter theme was best for this image. ^^

(NOTE: Originally, it was ~forgotten-phoenix's beautiful wolf photomanipulation, "I'll Die Another Day" that inspired me to create this piece; I thought that manip was so beautiful, when I first saw it, and I loved the idea of the white wolf laying on a rock with a planet in the background. Obviously, my piece turned out considerably different than ~forgotten-phoenix's own, but even so, I feel that it is only right to achknowledge her for inspiring me, in the first place.)

I love this book. I love it so much. When I was younger, I was crazy over it, but as I got older, I used to have mixed feelings about this book, until last Little Christmas, I got the audio CDs performed by this guy Steven Crossley and it was only after I first started listening to disk one did I realized how good this book really is. It has very good characters, a good plot, etc, and I will always appreciate it as one of my favorites.
As for this picture, I love the colors and the character of Larka. She had good character development and a nice sense of life and justice. Great work. :)

Really? I didn't know there was an audio CD for this book... how cool! And yes, I agree, it's a very good book. Of course, I always thought so, from the very moment I started to read it. Speaking of which, I really do need to re-read it sometime; it's been a while. ^^

Anyway, thank you! And thanks for the :+fav:'s, too. :)
