Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactFirst, let it be said that I will critique this emoticon without viewing the other, first version of this. Also, this is the first critique I ever wrote.
I really like the vision. If I was able to use this emoticon in my comments it would become my favourite. There are many situations where I'd like to use it.
The originality suffers from the fact that the idea is not really new. At this category you only get 4 stars.
The technique is simply amazing. The smooth aninmation is clearly a huge advantage compared to other emoticons. The rendering is very good and the general idea on the color choices and such is outstanding. I think that I can say this emoticon stays above all the other hug-emoticons as to the technique.
Similar to that technique rating is my rating on the impact. I mean... Such a nice emoticon is rare and therefore the impact is simply amazing. I would really like if this emoticon was included in the devART's common emoticon list.
In short: Cute and awesome.
