About the brushes: Fileteado Porteno ,is a specific kind of decorative art from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Born in the early days of the 20th century the origins of this particular aesthetic form can be traced to the old continent specially among the Gypsies. However the special and unique features of this art form are only understood within the Buenos Aires context. This decorative form in which two colours are separated by a thin more intense or contrasting hue line, that turn into. different motifs combining colour, technique and composition, and icons blended into the art piece. Originally done to decorate the traditional city grey buses, this art form as evolved throughout history; and in spite of the fact that it was banned from the city’s cars, Fileteado Porteno kept on evolving and its artist experimented on a variety of surfaces such as paper, tin, card, glass, and nowadays even as a body painting style.
