Napping by Coraleana Napping by Coraleana
Marcassin. :heart:
I've been in pain from a different source other than my pelvis and it was just constantly there, every flipping second, for over a week and it was driving me nuts. D: So I drew Marcassin, because he works better on me than painkillers. :heart:

I'd imagine running an empire is a lot of work, so even he might need a nap every now and then. ..if only the higgledies would leave him sleep.^^;
(I added those little guys in last minute, because I felt like it. X3 I do have an image in mind I wanted to do with Marcassin and lots of Higgledies).

Wow, the textures and lay of the room here look fantastic. :wow: Marcassin looks absolutely handsome, and I adore the higgledies in this! He looks so peaceful, and that stained glass window looks awesome back there!

I do hope the pain goes away.. :( :hug: I am glad that working on this helped a little bit. Wonderful picture!

Thank you very much. :)

That particular pain has gone away, though sadly it will return again.
I'm sure drawing is healthier for the body than taking painkillers. ;) So I'll do that if I can.

I say do it then! :hug: Yeah I had a wicked headache that wouldn't quit not too long ago, and it was rough on me but I decided to distract myself over the thought of wanting to drown out the annoyance in pain pills.

oh man.. I get too many headaches myself, some very very bad. x.x What helps me sometimes is a warm shower and just letting the water massage my head. Of course I don't always have the chance to do that.^^;
Little tricks like these are still better than pain meds. ;)

Does it? :? I'll have to try that sometime. A part of me blames withdrawal of caffeine. ^^; I usually have it every day, so when I don't have it--it really drives me crazy and I get the harsh headaches.

I guess it might depend on the source of the headache.. mine comes from tense muscles so heat works with that. People with migraines find relief that way too since the warmth of the water widens the veins. Also the water acts like a massage. So.. not sure if it'll work against caffeine withdrawal but you could always give it a try, you never know. X3;
Hmm.. does sound like it has to do with the caffeine. Hopefully the shower still helps..^^;

I wanna know what it means the text on the book :3

He looks so relaxed or super tired on that couch looks so cozy :3
love those little characters also they are adorble, Im loving them :heart:

The background is breath taking I stare at the window for a long time. 83
Like the glass is very wonderufl.

Also think this is one of your better pics of Marcassin, I think they are all
lovely made but this one, the way you drew his face relaxed and the pose and
everything, you got all the preportiongs all right. And his face looks so nice ;)

Also the name higgledies are so cute name for the little guys X3 sometimes last mintue
things are adding the cherry on the cake and makes it perfect ;) it really added more
to the picture and made it more intressting :nod:

X3 I was searching for book titles. Something a little sophisticated so it would fit him. I came across 'Lorem Ipsum' which sounds cool, but it's actually used as filler text. It has no real meaning. X3 I figured, why not?

They are super cute. They even sounds super adorable in game. XD

Thanks. I really like the way I make Hamelin windows. I actually made the texture for the glass myself. :)

Really?! That's really nice to hear. Personally I have other images if him which I like better, but this is also a nice one. :)

Thanks very much. :D

nah, I used some filters from photoshop. X3 I think I was trying to get some type of effect and this came out and I was thinking it made a very good glass texture so I kept it. :) I'm sure you could make something similar if you just fudge around with some filters too. ;)
Or... did you mean the actual shape of the window? I just do whatever. XD; Hamelin has windows with a lot of shapes in it like this one so I just do what looks cool.

Okay. XD

I'm sorry to hear that. I know what it feels like. But what I said in one of my replies, about that 100 list I made, it might help you too. It's not just about drawing ideas but I even have things in there like "draw with a different colored pencil". I know it sounds silly, but because of that challenge I actually found out I love sketching with a darker blue color rather than black. :) I also switched from a white canvas to a colored one, which is also really nice. It's little things like that that can improve your creativity. :)

I dont think it sounds silly, it makes you think in other ways
and helps your creative side work a little. I am stuck right now
in the middle of burnt out and .. well how can I explain this
with out it sounds weird or...oh never mind ^^; a lot of old
people have died at work reacently and I have been watching
over some of them, I think it took down me a little bit at this moment.

Im glad you enjoy the dark blue sketch style, it makes it look alive :3

I see. I think that would leave anyone feeling down. I think what you need to do is invite some fun in your life right now. Watch funny shows, or read funny comics. :) Maybe draw fun little doodles that are just nuts. XD You know like chibis with extreme expressions or something. I don't know, just throwing stuff out there. Also draw things that make you happy or smile. :)

Yeah it's weird...but it looks better and it does make the image look different from just black lines. O.o

love the pose in this, especially his hair splayed out over the cushion like that. This spot he is in looks so comfortable.

Sorry you have to put up with it so long. I'm glad the image at least helped keep your mind off it.
Got anything you looking forward to game wise? I'm getting excited for Dragon Quest XI, its been getting really good reviews. It makes me sad the Switch version is so far off...but guess that what I got a gaming PC for lol. I'll just have to double dip when the time comes. X3

Anything you looking forward too? =)

I have a little list, yes. :) Though most are still a while away.
And I'm actually also looking forward to Dragon Quest XI. I've never been into it because I very much disliked the style, but I saw some gameplay and heard some stuff about XI and I got super interested in it. :D
Other than that I'm looking forward to the Definitive edition of Tales of Vesperia so I can finally have a chance to play it. :la: (Before it only came out on the xbox)
I'm still looking forward to The Last of Us 2 and Final Fantasy VII remake but those will be a while I'm sure.
Biomutant seems very interesting as well. :)
And I heard about a Horizon Zero Dawn 2 and possibly both a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles X-2! Those three are definitely something to keep my eye on. :)

Any others you're looking forward too besides Dragon Quest XI?

Dragon Quest has always been a very Traditional style RPG, so I don't blame you for not being a fan of it. :nod: Plus I know the Dragon Ball design is not everyone's cup of tea. Still it is cool to know that at least Dragon Quest XI peaks your interest, the only other one I can think of you might really enjoy is VIII as it had such an amazing and charming cast of characters.
I grew up on Dragon Quest, back when it was known as Dragon Warrior in the states and "Americanized" to appeal more to the west, by giving it realistic covers. So it was not until Dragon Quest III on GBA that we got the real Akira Toriyama art-style. Which was a shock and pleasant surprise as I LOVED the hell of of DBZ during the day. XD You can see lots of influence in Dragon Quest in what I do.

Another RPG you might like despite that style and its age is Chrono Trigger, another masterpiece of an RPG during the good old 16-bit er..plus its soundtrack is GOD tier.

As for other game I almost forgot about Tales of Vesperia, that one I want to try as well...heard REALLY good things about it, and there going to be a Switch version which makes me happy. Not gotten to play many Tales game, the only other one I got into was 'Tales of Symphonia' on the Gamecube which was really good.

There is also Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate...and I'm sure others that are just slipping my mind. XD Tends to happen near the end of the year with so much coming out.

Yeah I've always found the dragon ball style to be too weird and just not appealing.^^; Which is why I never got into Dragon Quest.
Oh I never knew that. I can image you were totally excited when you saw the style. X3

Ah yes.. I've been thinking about Chrono Trigger, and I did hear the soundtrack is awesome. :) It does seem like an interesting game.

I'm a big Tales fan. :) I love Tales of Abyss and Tales of Graces F, they are my faves. Though I hate we only got Abyss on the 3ds, you guys got it on the PS2. :/ Symphonia was also a good one. I love that Vesperia is coming out on the switch. :la: I saw a let's play of it a while ago, since I never thought I'd get to play it myself, and it seemed like a really fun game. :D

Those first two I've never heard of. Their titles sound cool though. :)
XD that's why I make lists, so I don't forget.

I understand, each kind of style is going to appeal or not appeal to someone. :nod: I myself have always loved the style, always played a huge influence on me. So yes it was a huge surprise when I found out Dragon Warrior was actually Dragon Quest.

At the very least it worth listing to the soundtrack, you can find really good ones done by music artists on You Tube. But despite its age Chrono Trigger is still a lovely and fun game, and its style helped it age very well over the years. Personally I tend to always list to video game music when working on art, it helps me to focus.

Crono, the hero of the game was one of the influences for Ike, its where he got the red spike hair from...back when it was more spike in the day. XD

I was very late into the PS2 lifespan, so I missed out on allot of PS1 and PS2 RPG games...as I was young and did not have a job then, so was limited to the Nintendo ones I'd pick. When I got a job I was finally able to get a PS2, but still by that point I missed out on so much. Also as an art its hard to find time to juggle between everything. @.@ So when it came to the Tales games only two I've played is Symphonia and Abyss.

Yep, everyone has their own taste and likes. :)

I really should. I'd been meaning to listen to it before but I kinda forgot.^^;
I sometimes do that too. Though I personally prefer to listen to Let's plays or something. Hearing people talk just helps me feel less lonely. But music, especially instrumental (game) music can be a huge inspiration for art. :)

I see. X3

I know. It never used to be a problem, not sure why, but especially lately I found myself rushing games because the next in line was already coming out. XD; And it is hard to find time to do either, but to try and play games and do art can be really hard when you have such limited free time. @.@
Well Symphonia is a good one. I guess Symphonia is to Tales of fans what FF7 is to Final Fantasy fans. Very nostalgic and special. :) And Abyss is one of my personal favorites so I'd say even though you only played two, you played two of the better titles. ;)
