Ebony Dagon Deep One Amulet - 3/4 inch carving

A primitive figure of Dagon/a Deep One made from a small chip of leftover ebony. Exactly 3/4" high by 3/16" wide by 5/16" deep (at deepest part of base). Carved (?) using flat and half-round micro files and round file for eyes, scribe for other details. Sanded and cloth polished. Much darker black under normal light, with a satin sheen. Just practicing with the ebony and honing skills with files instead of chisels which is a little different than I'm used to. Inspired by ancient Egyptian stone amulets of similar size that I recently saw in a museum, though the basic rough cuts and straight lines in this figure look more like an African aesthetic, especially being an exotic African wood. If you look closely, you can see there are teeth etched inside the gaping fish-frog mouth (my favorite part). Disappointed at how it looks from the front but otherwise think it was a good try. This wasn't the thing I was working on when I got hurt...

Liked the challenge of working on something so small, but it's very easy to mangle yourself since there is no smart way to hold it while working. Still want to try and practice these with the files when able.
