Yes it's a little mario emote bouncing around :aww:
I also made Lakitu (the guy on the cloud) an emote =p

I'm really happy with how this turned out, and it was very entertaining to work on this :)

Frames: 427
Time spent: some days

I also submitted this to this week's Opus: [link]

The art style is very good, it captures the style of the original games very well and keeps a beliievab,e and long loop for a GIF. A few errors were made, such as when he kill the lakitu but doesnt get his cloud, but other than that retains farily realistic graphics and gameplay as if i were watching a walkthrough online. Usage of the simple DA emojis comes widely into play here as most of the characters use similar sprites, and speaking of sprites you seem to have worked hard on these sprites and they came out pretty well. All in all, a good performance.

Put into two words: too good. From the start, this video game felt like Mario indeed, only with that Kirby-looking emoji. With nice collection of blocks and defeating of enemies, and the collecting of coins, this deviant definitely gives a good illusion of a real video game. It is simply amazing. The artist even put in some challenges and nice work that actually looks like a recording/replay of how the walk-through did the level. This animation clearly shows good effort from the artist, and the loop is very nicely placed. Overall, incredible art work. Keep up the good work, cookie magic!

Pros:

I think this animation is really good!! It's very well animated, I wish i was as good as you!
i like the style, It looks like it is from a real game!

Cons:

The edge of Spiny's shell is grey and not white, the Goombas have weird faces, Mario's hat is too dark, the coins are too edgy, Lakitu falls too slow after Mario jumps on him. the pipes do not look as metallic as they look in the games and the all the blocks is too wide and too small.

I'm sorry if i'm a too harsh critic.

It is a very smooth creation. If I was someone who didn't understand what mario is i now understand by watching this. I am amazed how this creation shows like a real mario game. I love how some people would think about mario but not like this. 5 stars in all vision, originality, technique, and impact. It is brilliant and it is very amuzing. I could have not think of such a amazing creation. You will go far with your imagination. This has a smooth balance with a very strong impact. I couldn't say more. Great job and have fun with other creations.

This is a spectacular use of creativity in the world of emotes. Using smooth animation as well as some slick (and wondrously rotund) custom Mario sprites, you have recreated a memorable point in gaming history. However good this may be, though, I dock you a star in the originality department not out of heartlessness, but the sheer fact that I would be lying to call you completely original with a fan creation of something which already exists.

That having been said, I still enjoy the originality you do employ, such as Mario's fluid, balanced bouncing animations. Every part of this animation, original or not, forms together to become an ensnaring throwback to one's childhood. As uncommon as it may be that someone doesn't know who Mario is, this could be the first they saw of him and they would still understand what he is, and that is the beauty of it.

Now we see each time a 2D animation to and immediately realize it is a "Super Mario Bros. Animation again with a sweet emoticon. Also in is the theme very appreciated and the contents are immediately clear; location: Mushroom Kingdom, structure: blocks, mushrooms, warp pipes, etc. But in the mushroom and the coins it is immediately clear: Forgets not the opponents! Everything is known and also the Super Mario (All) outfit is enough... There, you know what I mean!

Very well-known theme.
Idea to 90% the original!

Again the idea is new and also the animation: 2D straight. The animator shows here be our 2. Favorite work of his animation library and here he has given too much trouble. I like before all the presentation of a parody of mario but almost it is already rather a clone! Correct crazy and cool is also this animation with its content and structure. New concept the animation the 2D variant.

Fresh old 2D in "Super Mario Bros." construction.

Again now is the technology and again is the liquid and ingenious. The 2D animation is like a game from the old 32-bit, and the "Mario" Flair is clearly visible. Quality is sharp and high resolution! It takes about 38 seconds before the end of the animation and again with an intriguing restart. The figure moves are funny and also each opponents and single objects has a movement! There is also in the background much to see: The animator has to route always something else come up. Also a warp pipes travel there is to a cave: For variety was provided. Even a shadow in the other side is used were: Is the animation more space. It is also very well done and looks Fantastic: Excellent work.

Very many movements.
looks like a game on the 32-bit out!
Very built liquid.
Big time construction.
Clouds, mountains and further to recognize.
It is a pixel animation with some time and cool presentation, 2D technology and very wrong Mario like.

Also this animation is the animator real successful and here again a high back guck value exists: always want to see something like that. This work has a good and special hookup, which it is 2D and this formally is also popular. As a Jump n Run figure moves themselves this little emoticon: I thought so intended, it should show a game, as the name it already says. Watch and enjoy. There are no improvements offered.

High Again guck value.
Varied and much to see!
No "negative" points to determine.

>>Style: animation, style-type: Pixel, 2D, games.

This has greatly astounded me. The animation flows perfectly and there isn't a single flaw. This is a genius work of art. To start out with, the Mario bounced in a balanced motion (although he goes a little bit slow). It reminds me of the olden days of NES. I love how you add the Goombas and Lakitua. This sort of gives you the feeling of playing Super Mario again. This kind of high quality shading and the colors matches perfectly, even though the animation is quite small. You should probably create a game with these emotions. Otherwise, good work on this smooth animation.

This is truly breathtaking. For someone like me, who grew up with this game, it is simply amazing how close to the game physics this animation is. Every colour tone and every shape reminds me of the original game. The gesture of Lakitu falling from their cloud is very amusing, too. Not to think of the effort it must have cost you. One of the best pieces of art I have ever seen here on deviantART. You might as well consider programming this game with emoticons, since I want to play it even harder every time I look at it

This is the best artwork i had seen in a while. Well done! I like how Mario doesn't have legs and how he bounces the whole entire way . I definitely like the underground and the guy who throws the spikey shells..he looks like a old man..but i think thats cute :3 Hahah, background...awesome! Lovin the goombas..adore how you jump on them and get points !
But i'm wondering wheres the time limit? And the points area. But other than that very unique and creative!! Looks like it took a long time o_O. And when you jump on the koopa guy thingy on the cloud..why does Mario go slow..is he supposed to? But really i adore it

The animation is optimized for FireFox, so if you are viewing it in another browser it may slow down in some areas ^^

Wow this has got to be the cutest and best art work ive seen.
Not like a pencil or brush stroke but you still put efort into it and it still came out amazing!

the vision is just lovely! what a great reminder of a game that touched the hearts of millions and you used devaint emotes as mario, that just makes it cuter! This has got to be the most Original mario fandom ever, i see no one else has came up as something that looks like it took hours stairing at a screen to do! The technique is flawless! Looks just like the real game but with the emotes!
For the impact this has 100% WOW factor ^^ It looks like someone had to be a master mind to create such efforts!
This is one of the cutest fandoms ive ever seen on devaint and it has "Made by a pro" written all over it.
I have nothing but admiration for you!

What I think really makes this animation so great is that it perfectly captures the essence of the classic 2D Mario games while the usage of emotes makes it appeal to a wider audience than simply gamers or people who are familiar with the series. While others have made Mario-related emotes before, I haven't seen a single one so far that is animated as beautifully or as detailed as this piece.

Not only is this animation very clean and fluid, but it shows your skill with making emotes and the vibrantly colourful, detailed environments than can make such an animation come to life as well as your knowledge of the original series. It feels as if it is truly part of the game that it represents, almost like you could pick up a controller and start playing. It's hard not to feel a least a small sense of nostalgia while watching.

This is truly a work of art.
