“Grrgbhnk?” She awakened with an undignified grunt, a disoriented mumble. Something had made a noise, she’s sure of it… and yet, she couldn’t make out exactly what. Rubbing sleep from her eyes, she dragged herself into a vaguely upright position against her crumpled pillows. “Mmmh?” It wasn’t her alarm, her phone showed she’d only been asleep for a few hours at best - crashing hard after a double shift at the lab, barely enough energy left in her to inhale some food and throw off her clothes before collapsing under the covers. So, Olivia strained her ears and squinted into the dark a few seconds more, the tendrils of sleep still tugging on her, but there was only silence and the dim hum of messy electronics somewhere off in the corner. “...Mnf.” That was her way of saying “must’ve been nothing” as her pale skin was quickly covered again by a welcoming duvet.
