a view on unity by conskeptical a view on unity by conskeptical
You can take the unity of the world and cut it one way, or another way, or many ways at once. But that doesn’t remove the intrinsic unity of the world. The intrinsic unity of the world doesn’t take away the various ways of cutting it up either though.

In my mind, the East, or the Buddhists, are stereotyped as singlemindedly aiming towards the top circle, the circle of Unity. In my mind, the West, or the Scientists, or the Rationalists, are stereotyped as singlemindedly aiming towards the bottom circle, a continual shattering of the world into endless pieces.

None of us can help but end up in one of the middle circles though. It might be interesting to realise this, and instead of adopting a single direction, Unity or Shatteredness, adopting a flexible navigation through the sea of possible (un)divisions of the unified/shattered world.

What more is there to say, other than that I like it?
