Description

This is my second entry for the DTA actively going, I just keep getting idea's for this guy haha, so this time I did sort of like a flashback to the most traumatic event in his childhood. Here's a bit of a story to go with it.

Noise after noise, thump after thump, scream after scream resonated throughout the location of a secluded village full of a multitude of pokemon as a result of the destruction that hit just an hour earlier. Every light that illuminated a specific area grew dimmer until it was no longer. Shrouding every creature that inhabited said village in a form of murk.

The darkness surrounding the area was all too real to a six year old Merrick, while being carried by his older sister, and big brother right behind them to a place they described as safe. He wasn't sure who the scary pokemon were, or why they were here, he only knew that he was scared and that something bad could happen. Only, the small glowchu wasn't ready for something bad to take place, he didn't want anything bad to take place, he just wanted his Mommy and Daddy, with them again. But it didn't seem to be shaping up that way, not at all. And that was the worst part.

"Where are we going? Wh-whats going on?" His small voice ring out so suddenly. Large eye's peering around within a tight hold as he squirmed to look behind them. Merrick's ear's had twitched slightly at the loud noises sounding out behind them, according to each flinch his brother and sister made. "I-i want M-ommy! A-and Daddy!" A whimper escaped the six year old so suddenly.

"Hush!" His sister exclaimed just above a whisper, as she draped a gentle paw over the smaller glowchu's mouth. Slightly aggressive that it made Merrick's eye's widen ever so slightly at such a tone he wasn't use to hearing out of her. Which somehow resulted in her softening her feature's toward him and removing her paw because of it. "I'm sorry, its just, we have to be very quiet or they'll find us." Her tone was gentler than the first time and, he could tell it was still just a whisper.

Merrick's saddened expression deepened when she reminded him of such pokemon, the monsters who attacked them. The monsters
he didn't like and was probably deathly afraid of because of their actions. Pokemon were supposed to be nice right? And Kind, and polite toward each other, thats what the village always taught—that was what his Mom and Dad always taught them too—so why weren't they? Why were they so mean and scary?

Pulled from his thoughts however, Merrick was placed tenderly in a familiar hole in the ceiling, the familiar hole he was always so good at using when either of his siblings played Hide and seek with him, that was, until they figured it out. But beyond his household, no one else ever knew of it. And that was probably why they sat him here.

"Stay here! And do not move under any circumstances." He heard his brother and sister say in a union, "We're coming back for you, we promise. But we have to go help Mom and Dad." And in that very moment, Merrick was engulfed in a warm bear hug by both siblings, his expression reflecting exactly how terrified he actually was. Because he didn't want them to go.

The urgency reflected in their movement when the two ran off in a form of haste, Merrick crouched downward as he pulled his own body impossibly closer to himself. Waiting for them. His head jerking slightly to the left as his eye's begin tearing up as he quickly spotted the "Monsters" terrorizing the village, now inside his home.

Sudden screams begin to echo throughout the establishment, and a thump, one after another until a familiar figure fell on the floor and in the line of Merrick's view. His mother first, as they hurt her in ways that a child shouldn't witness. And next came his father who was trying to protect her, only to be held back as they made him watch. The screaming, crying, and just seeing his parents in such a state was enough to shake the six year old to his core, the welling tears in the small child's eye's falling down his face as he let out a whimper of terror. Large wide and scared eye's flinching with every hit that ring out, and Merrick stared continuously as the reality of a nightmare came true.

The shadow's glided across the walls in such a frightening manner as the owners of them did inhumane things continuously, and in that moment, Merrick was sure, monsters were real.
