Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee: A review
While I’m reading one of my longest books so far this year, which is requiring quite a bit of my brain power, I thought I’d break things up, give myself a little breather, and read a novella. I haven’t read many novellas or shorter stories, but this is by the Green Bone Saga author whose trilogy I’ve really enjoyed, and I’ve heard so many good things about this book. Thanks to my sister for getting me this!
Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee is a standalone story focusing on Ester. Her quaint merchant family life is brought to a sudden end when a Manticore kills her younger brother and mother. Ester swears vengeance, and with a good interest in the lifestyle thanks to meeting a trainer and his bird before, decides to become a ruhker, a Roc handler. Rocs aka big eagles, are the only things that can take down the quilled feline beasts with ape’s heads and scorpion tails. Obviously, Rocs themselves are terrifying monsters, but Ester puts her all into becoming the ruhker for Zahra, a newly

COR Nuzlocke Chap 12: A storm builds
Oichi found me the next morning perusing a map of Ransei. A little Starly was beside me, eating some of our breakfast that I had requested. For the past however many weeks, maybe even months for I was quickly losing track of time, I had breakfast with either Oichi, the other warriors or both. So, the fact I wasn’t there would have surprised her, and I guess she was, but my back was turned to her. She came to sit at the other end of the table, Cherry carrying their own breakfast. Mute was on the table herself, her paws on the three kingdoms Oichi had told me about the night before: Pugilis, Violight and Chrysali.
“Oh, I didn’t expect you to already be planning things.”
I nodded, “Well, the sooner we achieve peace the better, then the fighting can stop. This little Starly as well brought news to Fontaine just after dawn, which was the most unexpected wake up call.”
“I can imagine,” she giggled sweetly.
“Anyway, we have an update from the other kingdoms, and I have a request from

RF:SC-Wedding event
(It’s the day of the wedding. The sun is shining brightly, regardless of the season, and everyone is ready. In the plaza a single strip of long white cloth has been laid out in the centre, with people standing either side of it. At the front a trellised arch made of seasonal flowers hangs over Albinous, the griffon guardian of the island. In front of him is the groom, the man about to get married. He is dressed a simple white suit with a waistcoat of deep forest green, bordered with gold thread. His gaze isn’t on the setting though, but in the sky as he watches a flock of birds fly past.Suddenly some music starts, from an old machine owned...

Ace of Pentacles (Klefki Tf)
It was another day in the bustling city of Lumiose. With the recent implementation of wild areas and the battle system, it seemed that the time between Pokémon and humans had never been greater… unless you were a man named Keith.
The man in question might not have come across as anything out of the ordinary as he got off the train: jeans, white t-shirt and black jacket, typical brown hair with maybe the odd grey strand and brown eyes… but should one’s eyes peer with greater scrutiny, oddities made themselves known. The man had no luggage, a very worn backpack and the oldest phone possible. Not a Rotom phone but one of those sturdier, can’t even play Seviper phones. The man was also fiddling with something: a couple of keys, one quite modern and the other incredibly old and small.
Keith flashed his ticket as he exited the train station, the only other thing of newness on his person, making his way out and sighing, the grey skies above reflecting his mood. He only hoped that coming

Factory of Runes Diamond Tormentlocke Summary
(Obviously this summary contains spoilers! This is for those who wish to jump into the sequel without having to read over 100 chapters.)
Runa awakens with no memory in the rain but is found by Barry. In order to discover her origins, Runa leaves her caretaker Dawn and becomes a Pokémon trainer alongside Barry in the Sinnoh region. She gets her starter, Raguna the Turtwig, and agree to help Professor Rowan with his research into evolution, by seeing if changing each action each turn in battle results in any evolution changes (thus making the run a Tormentlocke).
Runa managed to get her first catches, with the most notable being Aden the Starly, Julia the Magikarp and Bismark the Shinx. The group are asked by Runa what their dreams are, so that she can help them achieve it alongside her own. Raguna wants to be a farmer, Aden a cool leader, Julia a beauty idol and Bismark a champion. This last dream goes unfulfilled: Runa’s first battle with Barry sees Bismark lose his life to his own

Painting a Problem (Shiny Smeargle Tf)
Alola was a vast and varied set of islands, but there weren’t many households that looked as modest as the one owned by Lisa Amon. A beautiful garden was situated out back, while inside was fairly non-descript but filled with plenty of comfort. This might have taken a visitor aback, had they only known the bare basics of what she looked like: a Johto immigrant of blonde hair, Caucasian lineage and brown eyes, and a distant relative of a certain Harriet that also lived in Alola. Lisa was, in fact, Prime Minister of Alola. She had been elected to the role 2 years ago, and many had agreed she had done a lot of good within that time. Unemp...

NOCT3 Epilogue
The consequences hadn’t been as severe as Cecilia imagined, but it had still been horrible to see.She thought about this as she walked through Pannep’s prison, following silently behind the guard. After the light from the moonblast had quelled, Cecilia had seen several things. She had seen Oshima crumbled, back against the rocks he had emerged out of, one of his wings trailing uselessly on the ground. She had seen Delmarva panting and making her way slowly to her. She had seen Damiana and her Gardevoir rush forward towards Emy. She had seen Pacivima and the Mega-Tyranitar look towards the Gardevoir, posed but still ready for battle. The ma...
