Yep, in Mistralton who should turn up but Juniper, the actual professor who takes this long before arriving in game! Seems she 'apparently' has no idea what Tolkie meant when they met in the prologue via dream (which might also explain any inconsistencies between Juniper's art back then and how it is now! Nothing to do with improving art style and different colours of course). She hands the masterball and 'encourages' you to keep filling the Pokedex.

This is the perfect opportunity for Tolkie to get some answers. According to Juniper, Bianca is indeed a cyborg due to 'willing' modifications. As for Cheren, he's been blackmailed into the gym leader position, with his original team held hostage until he wins a gym match. Juniper is such a 'nice' professor isn't she? I feel like I'm actually going down a dark route...

Oh, and yes... the third panel in 16.4 is, at least for me, nightmare fuel.
