Factory of Runes Diamond Tormentlocke: Chap 98

This will be a long entry in this diary/journal, but… so much has happened and I’m still trying to get my head around it… It’s… It’s… No, I should start where I left off. The rest of the week was dedicated to grinding, doing training in pairs so that the rest of the team (and occasionally myself) could rest. Pandora was out much of the time, using the Exp. Share to collect more experience. Relations between her and the rest of the team were still frosty (no pun intended). The only thing to note for a long time were two battles against two Clefairies and Maerwen and Pandora learning new moves: Maerwen learnt assurance, forgetting night slash while Pandora learnt wood hammer forgetting ingrain. The Clefairies kept on using metronome, randomising what move was used. The first Clefairy used pay day, so I thought that maybe we’d get some more money, but we were close to a cliff edge and all of it went flying off the side into darkness. It then used flamethrower, giving Aden a burn. The

Eldest by Christopher Paolini: A review

Over the course of lockdown during the coronavirus outbreak, I asked my husband to pick out one of the books that I own but have yet to read or review. He picked this one. Unlike its predecessor, I did not read this during childhood so I can go into this with a fresh mind. Eldest follows straight on from Eragon. The battle with the Urgals has been won, and Eragon, through sheer dumb luck, triumphed over Shade Durza, earning him the title ‘Shadeslayer’. Unfortunately, the battle, while also leading to the loss of a prized dwarven gem, has earned Eragon a scar across his back that causes him tremendous pain. Matters worsen when Varden leader Ajihad, good friend Murtagh and the magically powerful Twins are attacked by Urgals on their way back from a scouting mission. Ajihad is killed, with Murtagh and the Twins missing, presumed dead. Ajihad’s daughter, Nasuada, must now lead the Varden and decides to take the Varden to Surda, for safety and to prepare for war. Eragon and Saphira are

I said that I wouldn’t be writing much unless something big happened… I really don’t want to write this… I have to. Once again, we set off early in the morning to travel back up Mount Coronet for some training. During the first skirmishes Raguna learnt crunch to replace bite. Pairs were taking turns to fight the wild Pokemon. It was in one of the caves closer to the top that a Medicham crossed our path, ready to fight. It seemed… rather upset. It was with surprise then that it gestured with a taunting palm towards Marian, who was out with Raguna. Marian nodded. “I think this is the Medicham I faced yesterday. I can take it on again?” “Just be careful. It was very tough yesterday and I doubt that has changed.” “Got it.” Marian floated into battle. She focused her mind to start a future sight, just like yesterday’s battle. The Medicham dove into her, forcing her palm into her body. Marian was pushed backwards but was barely dented. She spiralled her body forwards and let out

With a chill in the air that morning, we once again set off. This time I had Julia and Aden out. Julia was hardier to the cold weather while Aden was keen to scout out any grunts, and it wasn’t long before he found several in the next cave. As they were alerted to our presence due to what happened yesterday, we simply walked in and began our battles. The grunts seemed to be split into two halves: those eager for a new universe and those questioning whether it should be done now that they had time on their hands to think about it. The excitement was gone, one explained, while another felt weak without the back-up of the comrades he had left behind. As with the other grunts, all of them didn’t cause major problems. The only major thing to note was that Julia made a Golbat fully frozen. He made a good ice sculpture I had to admit. Onwards and upwards we climbed, with Julia making casual conversation about beauty tips which went in one ear and out the other (sorry Julia) and Aden

“The fluctuations have been noticed here and here, along with reports of a ‘ghost girl’. I’m guessing I don’t need to spell out what the job is.” A colleague of mine raised his hand, “Our job is to destroy both buildings right?” My superior wheeled on him and moved from the far end of the room to right in front of his face in a single second. “Viscount Jenkins, I suggest you stop with the joking.” “But… explosions ma’am…” Wrong move. He received a slap in return and boy did he deserve it! “I know your little attribute makes you trigger happy, but there will be no explosions or I will transport you to the far north to be made into a coffin! Is that clear?!” Jenkins nodded sheepishly. Thank goodness Countess Rose was in charge of this squad today. She began laying out the objective.
