It's getting close to the Silly Season again, and presents are flying left right and center!
To give those of you wanting to organise a Secret Santa for your group, chat, friends circle or whatever on DeviantArt, we've cooked up something to help you out here at Community Relations.
Secret Santa’s on DeviantArt are the very best! Instead of buying presents, Deviants get together to create art for one another as gifts instead. It's not only a celebration of sharing and generosity, but art and creativity too!
Our Community Volunteers are volunteering to be Santa’s little helpers!
We've whipped out the pointy ears and jingly hats in order to give you a hand with your Secret Santa event!
What this means, is that we have a list of community volunteers who are willing to help those of you organising Secret Santa’s on DeviantArt by drawing names and sending notes to participants so that everyone gets a surprise, including organisers!
How do you participate?
Send Cymae a note requesting a Santa's Helper
You will be responsible for your own organisation and promotion. You give our helper a list of usernames, which they will put into their pointy hats, and draw in random order. Our helpers will then note each participant, telling them who will be the recipient of their secret gift!
Oh wait, We also have presents of our own to give away!
Because we love getting you guys excited, we have two year-long Super Group statuses to give away!
Once your Secret Santa project is over, note Cymae with the total number of participants you started with, and the total number of gifts that were received in the end. Make sure you have a list somewhere we can check for proof that your numbers are correct
Tallys must be in by 30 January 2012, 11.59pm PST
You must note Cymae by the 30th of January 11.59pm PST for your event to be eligible for a prize.
You do not have to use our Santa's helpers to be eligible, you only need to have a record of participants at the start, and gifts given at the end.
We will award one Super Group status to any group the organiser with the most successful gifts nominates.
We will award one Super Group status to any group the organiser of the contest with the most Holliday cheer nominates!
The recipients of the Super Group prizes are at the winning organiser's discretion.
Note: This does not have to be a Christmas-themed event, simply a trade of gifts to celebrate the holiday season.
You may theme it however you like, though the mechanics should be that of a secret gift-giving in order to be eligible for the prize
