Why Am I Being Forced to Pay to Withdraw My Own Earnings?
DeviantArt Support,
I am extremely angry and frustrated that I am apparently being required to pay $7.99 per week or $39.99 per year for Authenticator Pro just to withdraw money that I earned through sales on DeviantArt.
Why should I have to purchase a separate paid subscription to access my own earnings? This is money generated through artwork sold on your website—not a premium feature, bonus service, or optional upgrade. Requiring artists to pay another company before they can withdraw their own funds is completely unacceptable.
DeviantArt already benefits financially from artists using the platform and making sales. Placing an additional paid service between an artist and their earnings feels exploitative and deeply unfair. At the absolute minimum, DeviantArt should provide a free verification method for withdrawals, such as standard two-factor authentication, email verification, SMS verification, or manual identity verification.
I want a clear explanation of the following:
Why is a paid Authenticator Pro subscription required to withdraw my earnings?
Is there a free verification option available?
Does DeviantArt receive any financial benefit or referral compensation from this requirement?
Why was this requirement not made completely clear before artists began earning money on the platform?
How can I immediately withdraw my money without paying for another subscription?
Artists should never be forced to pay a recurring fee simply to access money they have already earned. Please provide a direct answer and a solution—not a generic automated response or a link that does not address the issue.

P.S. Apparently, users also cannot send direct messages to the official Team or DeviantArt accounts. Why is that? Why does a platform built around artists and community make it so difficult to directly contact its own team—especially when artists are dealing with serious problems involving their accounts and money? Blocking direct communication only makes DeviantArt appear less transparent and less accountable to the people whose work and sales support the platform.
