Sorry dA didn't notify me of your second comment :P

Wacom Intuos4 Large tablet (expensive I know, but well worth it :P) and I'm currently using the Beta of Photoshop CS6. It's cool cause it's fully featured and free with no time limits! (Well until it's released that is)

But if you are looking for something cheaper I recommend one of the Wacom Bamboo Tablets and Photoshop elements.

Hope that helped :)

Guess what, You mentioned 'bout PS6 and i panicked xD
Anyway, I have Wacom Bamboo MTE-450. A cheap one, tho I like it. By then I wonder - does that really make such a difference? :?

It definitely makes everything a lot faster and easier. You use the 'undo' way less as you have much more control over the strokes, especially with the larger surface. It feels a lot more natural. Also the touch wheel on the side and shortcut buttons are SO useful!

But bottom line is that it can't make you good at art :P Just more able to express your skills :)
