I have never tried comic style cell shading before. Considering this is a character test from a comic I am wanting to fiddle with.. I may need to learn it XD
Why I suggested your normal style first. Cell shading for the most part isn't hard. Its roughly two to three shades of a color on a single item. Sometimes its not even that. Also less blendy blendy from what your gonna be used to.
I am trying it on a new drawing now. Been live streaming and so far.. not too bad. ^^ When I LS next I'll post the link in my journal. Hopefully you can catch it. Probably will be tomorrow night.
Aside from simply wanting to know how to do it I can't fathom why you'd want to. I'm trying to get away from it (and failing, woo like so much else) and wanting to do a bit more realism far as skin and stuff goes.
Ok posted the latest up. I got at least halfway between comic style shading and realism! XD I have found that I am actually just not stopping and making the shading defined, and blurring it instead. That is the trick to my realism style I guess.
