EDIT TO ALL! If you are listed here, you must read this! Please!

We're editing this category as it seems a few submitters haven't quite fully grasped the category, so we're adding a secondary one called Slice of Life as suggested by Bluewyrm.

Real Life is: High school, college, work, school, home life... these are stories that pair up with the Drama section but, perhaps, favor being more mellow than dramatic and intense.

They're all about what's all around us, and living through it. They may even be stories that actually happened to the creator, or someone they know, or it may be a work of fiction with limited, to no 'fantasy' elements.

Slice of Life is: A story that relates very well to the real world, and is in fact based on this world. As an example, we'd allow vampires in the Slice of Life as long as it's set in the "real world" and does not deviate too far into fantasy. Such as, you cannot have a medieval story here, or one where the characters are in space, it needs to be modern day, earth. We would allow a comic that has fantasy elements, as long as the fantasy elements do not overpower the real life format.

I.E. A story with animal people can be based on real life, and closely relate to a drama of cause that our world actually has, but it is still too Fantasy to be in this section.
Steampunk is also not to be in this section. (It belongs in Fantasy and/or Science Fiction depending how you wrote it)
Science Fiction does not belong here.

If your stories have real life elements to them, but are still mostly fantasy, consider putting them into the Drama category, as that will be most appropriate.

If you are listed here, you must tell me which category your story belongs in, within 2 weeks (starting June 9th, ending June 23rd), or your story will be removed. I am sorry, but this is for the good of the directory being accurate and allowing individuals to find what they are seeking. If you tell me "slice of life" "real life" or even "move mine to drama" the corrections will be made at absolutley no penalty. It would also be helpful to be told if it best fits the main character being a Child, teen, or adult/young adult

I think this should probably be called 'slice of life' rather than 'real life,' as the latter implies realistic fiction or even nonfiction works....

It's intended to be realistic fiction or non-fiction. Or, at the very least, have realistic aspects... However, I may separate it into 2 sections for Real Life and Slice of Life, as you suggested, as people don't seem to be following the rules for it XD

As an example, we'd allow vampires in the Slice of Life as long as it's set in the "real world" and does not deviate too far into fantasy. Such as, you cannot have a medieval story here, or one where the characters are in space, it needs to be modern day, earth.
