Description

This timber rattlesnake was found in our area a few years ago, causing our neighbor to be concerned it might threaten her dogs (who I don't really like). My dad brought it over to our yard while handling it carefully with a long stick. We finally had it shot so it wouldn't pose as a danger to anyone.

On a side note, I always thought rattlesnakes were pretty cool (not that I would want to handle or even be near a real-life one LOL).

Very nice photo. The dark hued snake in the grass would have down well to stay in its own natural environs than to undulate across this nice green lawn and stick out like a sore serpent. There is a a sure and certain beauty to these bad boys, as well as a hypnotic hold in this herpetological hijinks. Alas that they so often feel compelled to deliver a shot of venom to some poor gardener's unsuspecting ass.
