WC: Even Evil pt. 7
Part 7
Morgan and Accolon stood outside the castle’s doors watching a straggling line of nobles and their gathered retinues slowly make their way out of the castle. Servants helped their lords or ladies walk if they had injuries, some people’s faces were beaten and bruised, and others were carried out to their carriages, dead.
Morgan wrapped her arm around Accolon’s as she watched the procession pass by. Anyone who looked her way quickly looked to the ground or blanched with fright.
“Thanks for coming…” Morgan murmured.
Lord and Lady Stewart approached with John and their other servants in tow.
“Empress Morgan le Fey, thank you for hosting us.” They bowed deeply. John looked up at Accolon. John’s arm was bandaged and the stains on his shirt had now dried a dark color.
“Thank you for saving me, commander,” John said.
“Thanks for the drink,” Accolon replied.
“Thank you for coming. You are welcome to return under one condition,” Morgan began.
“Yes, my Empress?”
