Do you know that feeling of having a second family? And by that, I mean being so close to a certain group of people, that they kind of become like a part of you. Yeah, well that's how my (not so small) group of friend is to me: we get on each other's nerves sometimes, but if one of us gets into deep shit, we're all in the same boat...except when it's between Nik and G.-F, like right now. We're on band practice in Élois' garage on a Saturday afternoon, and these two haven't stopped since we arrived fifteen minutes ago.
-"Nikolas Gould, you stupid prick, where did you put my bass again!?!", G.-F yells to Nik from across the room.
-"Geof, I swear, I didn't touched it this time!" he replies, running from G.-F's wrath.
*sigh* I guess Nik will never learn not to mess with G.-F's stuff. And, also, that G.-F will never learn not to let his stuff everywhere.
-"Last time you said that, you broke it while trying it whithout my permission!"
-"It was an accident, I swear on Lois' boyfriend's head!"
-"Wow Zeke, didn't knew you were a god of some sort," says Élois, who's having a moment with said boyfriend.
Ah, Élois and his sarcastic comments, they never get old.
-"Me neither. I guess it's new. Oh well, I guess I can be yours then...", responds Zeke.
-"Boooo, get a room you too!", jokes Brian from his usual spot in front of the drum.
-"Oh, shut up and let them be Brian. We don't talk when you and your girlfriend have moments." I reply, still sitting on the couch.
Meanwhile, G.-F and Nik are still bickering at each other quite loudly.
-"Uhm, guys you better tone it down or my sister will come at you and scold you...in French," mocks Élois.
As soon as he says this, the house door opens to a slightly pissed off Cynthia, who's not very pleased with all that noise.
-"Pouvez-vous baissez l'ton, les voisins vont penser qu'y a un meurtre icitte," (Can you lay down the noise, the neighbours will think there's a murder here) she asks, obviously in French like she always do when she's annoyed.
-"Hein, what did you say?" mocks Nik.
-"Nik, you perfectly know what I said, you speak French too..." she replies, not too pleased with his response.
-"Sorry, I had to, your accent is so different from mine. Don't take it bad though, it is fine."
-"It's fine, it's not like I'm offended or something like that. Beside, I do jokes about yours too, but I think it sounds nice. Joke asside, can you guys stop arguing and get along? I mean you got here to play music, right?" she asks, to all of us.
-"Yeah, this is what we intended to before G.-F realised his bass got missing...again," informs Brian.
-"It's in my room G.-F. You forgot it Yesterday, so I thought that I should put it with mine until you came here to look for it, but you obviously didn't, so I waited," adds Cynthia.
-"Oh. Okay then, problem resolved. Thanks Cynthia, though you should've texted me. And sorry Nik, I guess I shouldn've accused you," affirms G.-F, slightly embarassed at his fit at Nik earlier.
-"It's fine Geegee, no need to worry about it." Nik replies.
-"The nickname wasn't necessary tho--"
-"OKAY, practice time! I'll go get your bass and I'm coming back to hear you guys," interupts Cynthia before going back inside to get the bass.
I looks at the door, waithing for her to come back. I don't know why, but everytime she goes, I feel like there's something missing, like a part of me or some shit. I had this feeling for quite sometimes now, but I don't seem to know what it is.
-"Looks like someone have a crush on my sister here," cooed Élois jokingly.
-"N-not true," I exclaims, embarassed.
Or it is? I mean it could be something. I never really had a crush on someone, I mean, I didn't had much feelings for the last girl I went out with years ago. Well, she wasn't the greatest choice I made, but it's another story for later, maybe a few chapters later. But Cynthia is...different for some unknown reasons.
-"Allô, la Terre appelle Ross, do you hear me?" (Hello, Earth calling Ross,).
I realised that I've been spacing out for a moment and didn't realised Cynthia was back in the garage...and oh shoot, what did she said again?
-"You've been looking at the door the whole time I was in the house or what?" she explains, "Missed me?"
I struggle to explain why I was spacing out, until she adds:
-"I'm just kidding. C'mon, didn't you wanted to show me those new songs you've wrote? I seriously want to hear them, you've been talking about those for weeks now and it made me hyped."
-"Yeah, I couldn't wait to actually show them to anyone. You'll be the first to hear them...if we don't count Zeke." I reply, sitting up from the couch and go to the mic.
Seriously, what is going on with me? Oh well, now's not the time, let the show begin.
