Wanna know why this quarantine is all based in fear?

We fought the Revolutionary War during a smallpox epidemic and were not afraid in those days.  Not only that, but we fought World War I during a Spanish Flu epidemic, and fear did not stop us from victory back then either.  The country has grown too soft, and we've been boxed in for too long.  As my good friend Scott/SpecialGuestStar says, it's time to get out and go.

Actually, that's a good point.  And thank God we don't have that problem now.

GET UP AND GO

26 million people are out of work.

While every unnecessary death is a tragedy, this is actually no worse than a bad flu season. It’s not a “pandemic” but just normal seasonal stuff.

It’s time. Open up the country.

Except that this is more easily transmitted than regular flu. Last year, 34,200 people died of the flu in 2018-2019. So far this year, in less than 4 months, 52,400 have died. In 4 months. In a bad Flu season, 80,000 can die- in one year. We're better than halfway there in just 4 months.

Fair is fair. This is worse than a "bad flu season". If you want to kill people, sure, open up everything again. Just like you can take Trump's suggestion and inject yourself with bleach, or lysol (which lysol recommends you do NOT do). But realize you or people you love/know are going to be killed by the rampant stupidity.

When a disease has been politicized it makes it very difficult to find solutions which are not political.

So far, the only person I see "politicizing" this Coronavirus is Trump. It was supposedly a "Democratic Hoax" meant to bring down his presidency. After he finally acknowledged it was real, then he started his bs predictions "We have five case, very soon it will be none." "It will go away with the heat, in April." "It will be like a miracle- it will all just go away." Obviously, BSing the virus didn't make it go a away, so then he moved on to the "Miracle Cure-Alls" of Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin (Kills patients even faster and in higher numbers than normal treatment)and now, injecting bleach, lysol and other cleaners (or as one Trump follower suggested, vaping them) and intense light and heat applied to the depths of the body. (You can try those, but the treatment really *is* worse than nothing, unless you want to experience death for yourself).

On top of the President's quack cures, his "Coronavirus briefings" have a "Rah Rah, yay is me! I'm so great! Nobody is better than me!" undercurrent that makes it clear that he's only doing these to promote himself. And if the tone of voice he said his "sarcastic comment" about injecting bleach and cleansers into your body is any indication, he doesn't know how to do that, either.

Be that as it may, No democrat has "politicized" the Coronavirus. Trump did, all by his lonesome, by insisting it was a "Democrat Hoax" against him. Now, if you mean, we can't implement a solution without Trump and him seeking to politicize it as a victory by him so he can get re-elected, I agree. The country may have to do it without him, and he'll still try to claim it was somehow *his* victory.

And to you.

Exactly.  I read the symptoms on Wikipedia, and they sound like every worst case of the common flu virus in history, nothing novel about them contrary to popular media belief.
