Mission statement: I specialize in helping your BDSM fantasies come true, by providing high quality custom gear made from your description.

Disclaimer: While usually not explicitly sexual, my work often has mature themes, and many of the things I make are toys for adults and accessories for the sorts of games adults play. If the thought of what one might do in the privacy of their own bedroom/dungeon with the things I make disturbs you, you should go look at something else, rather than wasting your time and mine complaining to me about it.

Who: I'm an artist metalsmith and jack of all trades from northern Michigan. I spent way too long in college in the nineties, studying both medicine and art. Mundane resume' available on request, in the event that you're looking for a chief operations officer to turn a failing hospital or group practice into an expanding, profitable showpiece. Given the choice though, I prefer to make art: I've been making BDSM hardware and art for most of my life, and right now I'm trying to make a living doing it, because it's a lot easier on my stress levels than my 'day jobs' tend to be.

I am a polyamorous, heteroflexible (Kinsey 2) top, in a 24/7 TPE relationship with my slave, the lovely Tinysaurus, as well as some other less structured relationships. I'm active in my local fetish community, where I provide services including scene photography, rigging, medical procedures including piercing, cutting, branding, and scarification, education, demos, etc. More information about that can be seen at fetlife.com/users/261650 . For those unfamiliar, Fetlife is a social networking site for the BDSM community, and it's my favorite platform for discussion and contact within the BDSM community. While it's sometimes an invite-only community (new membership limited based on server capacity), I do have a substantial number of invites available; message me!

What: I have a well equipped studio, and I can make just about anything you can envision or describe in metals, cloth, leather, and plastic. I have limited experience with latex, but can handle simple pieces. I'm generally willing and able to take on all sorts of work: my commissions this past summer have ranged from the fetish metalwork I feature here, to structural welding and general contracting.

Please see my journal entry titled 'Studio Policies' for more information on how to commission me to make things for you.

Journal History

One step on the road to getting my life back and getting back into production:  Moved my niece back out, now that her family situation has somewhat improved.  She wasn't happy about it: apparently it's rough for a teenager to have to share a room.  On the other hand, I had to pack up most of my own stuff to make room for her in this tiny house, and a pile of boxes is not a studio.

Another step: got the back yard pile inventoried, and made a list of tools I lost in the move.  It's a pretty long list, but not as long as I feared.  A few things are usable with some repair.  Nothing liked being rained on, then repeatedly thawed and frozen.

I figure in a week or three I'll be back up on my feet, and open for commission work again.  I did manage to do a couple of pieces through etsy during the downtime, but didn't make a cent off of them due to having to buy tools.  I know there are a few things I was doing for friends that got back-burnered: at least one of those projects survived the moving adventure and is worth completing.  The others are a bit of a wash.

I've been avoiding social situations for about six months, and I'm just now starting to unlurk again.  For those who've wondered where I've been, it's a bit complicated, but here's the low-drama version.

I missed out on some job opportunities that I was really counting on.
I got a bit too deep into some problems with my physical and mental health.
I moved out of a very nice but too expensive house into one that isn't as good a fit for what I need, even though the location and price are better.
My studio didn't handle the move well: Had a little misunderstanding with the movers.  Many of my tools and supplies got left out in a field in freezing rain and destroyed.  I only managed to dig out and inventory the last of it a few weeks ago, after the last blizzard finally melted.
I found out that some people I'd considered friends weren't. (moves and hard times are good for that)
I found out that in at least one case, I was being someone's shitty friend and/or creeper.  That hit pretty hard.
I had to rescue my niece from a bad living situation and give her a place to stay till she could finish the school year.  With a teenage girl in the house, I've had to forgo a lot of my photography, and keep my fetish commissions to a minimum.
I wrecked a car, and got to rebuild the front end myself, without a garage, in the winter.
I actually got some good commissions, and managed to just about break even on the cost of replacing tools, which was one bright point.

OK, enough whining.  The best part of troubles is that they end, and most of mine are coming to a close.  I'll be back up and in business soon.  Apologies to all the people I've ghosted: it wasn't anything at your end.
Collarsmith in armor
That's me on the left in the black leather armor and helmet.  I was the black knight at a renfaire combat demo, circa 2005, for a combat oriented household I occasionally fought with.  Between demos, I stayed in armor and did pickup fights with some of the other household and another Scadian group that had set up nearby.  The choreographed bits called for me to lose to the silver knight during the demo.  I made up for it during the pickup fights by holding the field and kicking asses.  This is the best picture I have from that event, heavily corrected in Gimp for fading and water damage.

I'm especially proud of this one: my opponent is substantially larger and stronger, a giant of a man, but the motion blur on his sword tells his error: I'm running in diagonally, causing him to pivot, balance check, and swing early.  He cut a big chunk of air, and got his helmet rung like a bell a second later.

Challenge puzzle two
If the first version is too easy, I have a second one waiting.  Same premise:  move the key to the lock.  Not at all easy.  This is based on the classic 'Solomon's seal' puzzle.

Challenge puzzle detail.
The rope passes under and over the brass ring, pinning it in place.  The ropes are too short to reach to the other end to free the prisoner.  I think it's a relatively easy puzzle, but then I built it.  Actual playtest difficulty pending.
