Group Info

Collaborative Comics is a club designed to provide a unique location in which artists can challenge themselves in a fun atmosphere with other artists, in a fashion very similar to role-playing - but with comics! It hosts and runs comic projects with multiple artists. Once a member, you can look into starting your own Projects or joining an existing one.

Most projects should be improvisational in nature (no preset script) though exceptions may be made. The goal is NOT to generate major comic collaborations but to be more of a game setting between artists - Something light and fun to do with your creativity, something mildly challenging where your art can be affected by other artists.

Membership is open to any and all. If you don't have a project you want to join or an idea for one yet, that's fine. Feel free to become a member and post fanart of existing projects or simply lurk around waiting for the chance to play.

Current List of Projects:

Restless | Dead-Beats

General Rules for members:

1) New updates to your projects should have the Project's name or Acronym in the title.
2) Blog entries dealing with your comic should have your project's name or acronym in the title.
3) Please submit your artworks to the appropriate gallery for your project, either into the archives (for comics) or other materials (for project related non-comic art). This a drop down menu on the 'Submit a Deviation' screen. If you would then like your image to show up in Featured (and thus have a chance to be seen on the front page) then you may go to the correct gallery and click the pencil icon next to your image and send a copy to the 'featured' gallery, however all images must FIRST be sent to the correct project's folder. Admin are NOT responsible for maintaining a clean archive for your project - YOU are.
4) Please connect the images in your comic appropriately, with "next", "back", and "first" links. "Last" links, for obvious reasons, should not be added. If you want a Last link, link to your Project's journal and maintain a 'Latest Page' link there.
5) To join a project, check the project's information page for details and then contact those members listed as Project Founders with your request.
6) Make the comix and HAVE FUN! =D

Dead-Beats is part of Collaborative-Comics, a dA club!  Read more information about the club at the Collaborative-Comics Information Page.

Dead-Beats is open and accepting new players!  To join, simply ask KouNaraishi or BeCeejed and you will be added to the player roster and assigned a turn.

Dead-Beats is a strip comic about five survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse.  The characters are pre-named and each player controls the story on their turn.

General Rules found at the Information page are followed.  In addition, the following rules also apply:

1) You take turns, following a regular order.
2) If you don't have an idea you can cede your position to the next player in line and wait for your turn to come around again.
3) If it is your turn and it has been SEVEN DAYS since the last comic was posted, and you have not yet posted your comic, you automatically forfeit this turn to the next player.
4) When its your turn, anything goes.  EXCEPT:
5) Try not to completely negate someone else's actions in a previous comic.
6) Minor encounters can be killed or written off by anyone.
7) Characters cannot be killed or written off by anyone.
8) Only use the five pre-designed characters.
9) Any other character than the five main characters listed in this journal which you may introduce is free to be killed by any player.
12) Keep your images less than or equal to the size of half an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper, folded hotdog style.
13) Post a link to this journal on every comic you submit.
14) Have Fun.

The character list will be filled as soon as Kou and I are finished with the reference materials for the characters

Watching! O.O

Hiya there! ^_^
Still thinking about it, but looked over your work, and stuff.
I may join as well, still thinking about it, but I'll help advertise this if you guys want?
Collaborative-Comics Featured By Owner Mar 8, 2009
That would be nice, yes, any word out is good. New clubs need advertisement indeed.

^_^ just Join, join restless, or start your own project...all good stuff.

I'd probably join restless, I like the direction it's taking =D

It's fine if I enter an already created OC right?
I'd just sort of... blend him/her into the world of Restless. ^_^

Yeah, that should be fine. Also, just keep in mind that the only thing you 'own' about a character in this case is when they can be written out. Everything else you have to input into the comic before it becomes Canon. So if you join, you ndon't have to add your character right away if its awkward, you can just continue on with existing chars until the story moves forward to a point on your turn when you feel you can add your char in the way you like. And just be prepared to let stand anything we might say about them.

In general, Kou and I have left most storytelling objects up to the creator's turn, excepting when we play 'question games.' (the best answer is always PIRATES!)
