Dave Strider

Homestuck and the character Dave Strider do not belong to be. All rights belong to Andrew Hussie.

Happy Homestuck Day! Its my first as an official fan. I saw some artwork by an artist named LAM and wanted to mimic some things from his works. This included the background, the stickers on Dave's sword and the hanging charm on the handle of Dave's sword.

The stickers on the sheath are all symbols of characters Dave has close relations to. Dirk's is damaged due to his relationship with Dirk being damaged both by his splinter of Bro (Beta Dirk) and due to Dirk's actions in the Epilogues. Karkat's zodiac symbol is its own special thing since Dave and Karkat are canonically a couple.

I'm really proud of this with how the clothing folds and details came out. I tried my hand at subsurface scattering on the shadows.

Nearly didn't get this done due to other stuff going on and procrastinating. I started this December of last year and thought "I have months to work on this." and then April was right around the corner before I knew it.
