Oil on canvas

I really like how this turned out. I've been inspired by the work of Christian Hetzel, the texture work that he does it amazing and I've been trying to incorporate his technique in my work. Though I don't think I'll go as minimal as his work, but I do dig the depth of which he creates his textures.

I've been wanting to use these greens again for a while and I finally got the opportunity to do so with this painting and with one that I'm starting to work on. Stay tuned!

there is something toxic about the colour pallet and when combined with an almost industrial application of the white give a very urban feel in my opinion. i love the atmosphere it creates

Thank you! I get that too sometimes. I never thought I'd be doing minimalism in this way. I like it, though. It's fun to just explore what I can do with the textures.

I´m a friend of minimization as done by using only shades of green on white/grey Clap

I really love this, how did you create such amazing texture?

Thanks! Well, I used a variety of brushes: regular bristle brush, a nylon stripper brush (from a hardware store), a hair brush, a few soft watercolor blender brushes.  Once got  the textures how I wanted them, I went and smoothed them out a bit, waited till the paint was almost/completely dried and then went over it with various palette knives.

Been searching for a bit on different types of art tools to use for different textures and just started to experiment with all kinds of brushes, palette knives, scrapers, etc. Basically, I searched in a hardware store for different types of brushes to use to get different textures. I wanted some really stiff bristle type brushes, but couldn't find them in art stores. I found a few different types of hard bristle type brushes in the the painting section of Lowe's that I used in the last 3 paintings.

Very helpful! I've been experimenting with putty knives and different kinds of spackling paste. Who knew the best place to buy art supplies was a hardware store! =]

Indeed! I even used a masonry brush on a painting or two, but had to put it away. I didn't like cleaning the large brush and it smelt of rotten onions when cleaned with water.
