Last year I was contacted by the Nakatomi Invitational to produce a T-Shirt and Print based on the theme of robots. So I racked my brain and came up with MILTON GLASER V. MAGMA TAISHI a tribute to the only robot with long beautiful flowing locks, Osamu Tezuka's Magma Taishi (Goldar in the US) done in the style of 60's poster designer Milton Glaser.

Limited edition T shirts and Prints are available for one month only, so check it out if you have a chance.

Personally, I'd have gone with Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Tetsujin 28-go (aka Gigantor ).

Whoa!!! I'm a big fan of Osamu Tezuka, and yourself, but I never thought I'd say the day when you guys' work would come together. And this shirt design does, indeed, capture both the style of Osamu Tezuka and the somewhat abstract pop-art style done by quite a few artists of said movement. Great job!!!

I must say, Osamu Tezuka's a huge inspiration for me, as well. His very imaginative, unique characters and stories have had me hooked on his work for a long time.

Looks like Dylan found his robotic counterpart. ;)

That's awesome, Craig! Ambassador Magma is my personal favorite Tezuka character.

I look forward to more of your work! This was a pleasant surprise.

Gorgeous text and flowing locks, and I love the use of the black and white to create Taishi's cold metalic shape. :)

I've never heard of Magma Taishi. I've never heard of Milton Glaser. And the only Nakatomi I have heard of is the one from Die Hard. But sir, I know what I like, and I like this.

my inner nerd could not be happier than it is right at this very moment in time.
Now if only said inner nerd could find a job, she would be wearing this shirt at the earliest possible convenience.

On the subject: maybe for an encore you could consider doing a tribute to either Tsuburaya's Ultraman or Toei's Johnny Socko & His Flying Robot (Japanese name: Giant Robo )....two classic Japanese shows that ran during the after-school hours of our respective youths in the late 1970s/early 1980s. It's just a thought.
