After the fire was put out the police took me in for questioning till morning. The fire department allow me to go back and grab whatever is left. Lucky my room was untouched so was the potion room so I was able to grab a few things. Plague and I are on a bus heading north to where the bird lady lives. Apparently she didn’t want to hurt us and is very sorry. I’m not sure of her but I got nowhere else to go. I couldn't go back to the cabin since master is the only one that knows where it is. I sigh and look over at plague in the other seat. I put a leash on him so he wouldn't wonder off. ‘I started calling Plague a guy since it’s easier then call it an it so don’t get too confuse.’ I look out the window to see my face with a brown beanie covering my hair. Plague and I got off with a few scratches other then that we’re fine.
After three transfer and many useless stops we arrive at the bottom of a mountain in the middle of nowhere. I got off the bus while holding the leash making plague hop behind me. The bus doors closes with a screech and drove away with the driver not caring why I’m here. There was only a sigh on the side of the road with the symbol of a bus. I set my stuff down on the ground and sat next to it waiting for the bird woman to appear.
I know if she doesn’t come for me before it gets dark there’s a small town five miles away.
I let my mind go as I sat there. I thought of what happen to the shop, how I saved plague, the bird women, and many things kept rushing in. I took a death breath to forces on one thought. The dream is what I want to figure out but I’m not ready in, fear of what the truth is. I remember my friends back home, the house I live in, my parents, and the girl I had a crush on. I shake my head in hopes to get rid of these thoughts. I start resisting spells, what to use in a potion, and my master. I grew tired as the hours pass. I haven’t seen anyone come by and very few animals.
I start to hear a soft buzzing sound then it got louder. Plague starts to bark at notion as little static electricity fills the air. There was a bright flash making me shield my eyes. “Hey, you made it.” I heard a woman’s voice. I look to see the bird woman standing in front of an odd mixture of colors in a shape of an oval. It felt like it was there but it not at the same time. “Are you OK?” She asks as I continue to sit on the ground. I stand up saying I’m OK. Plague starts to sniff around the thing like it was another animal. “So are you ready?” She gestures to the odd floating thing. “What is that?” I ask staring at it. “It’s the back door. It comes in handy when going long distance,” Standing in front of the door with smiling face that inviting but her eyes tell me otherwise. My gut was yelling at me not to trust her but I had nowhere else to go. I ignore it while call myself a dumb-ass in the process. I step into the mixture of color call a door with the bird women and plague behind me.
There was a sudden sensation like I wasn’t there but I know I am. I saw only burrs of the world as my stomach launch itself out of my body and my head pounded like a drum. I could not stop these feeling no matter how much I wanted to. That’s when I thought of instead of resisting I go with it. I relax my whole body like I was going down a stream. I felt something hard hit my whole body and let out a yelp. I rolled and stop lying on my back. My stomach then had enough and everything came out. I was on all fours puking as I hear the bird woman cursing. I sat back once I finish and breath for a moment. I apologize to her but she told me this happens to those who weren’t expecting that. “Sit down on the couch and catch your breath,” she pointed at a brown couch as she walked away. I stayed on the floor, panting, as I look around the room.
It was a Large room separate to look like two different room. On the left side had ceiling high white bookshelves with a window seat on the side wall. There was a seashell shape pillow with a open book on top of it. In the middle of the room are three sea-foam green comfy chairs facing each other. A purple floor lamp was behind one and a table stand between the other two. A double door is on the far side of the room.
On the right side had a brown couch in the middle sitting on top of a autumn leaf pattern rug. A flat screen TV hung on the wall in front of it with a dark green coffee table below it. A bird perch stood behind the couch with many stains and scratches. A cherry wood china case was on the side wall next to a dark wood half cabinet.
She Walk through the arch on the right side with a bucket. I stood up and took the bucket. “All right while you clean I’ll get dinner ready I’m sure your hungry,” She smiled and left. I quickly clean up and left the buck there not knowing where to put it. I sat on the couch with a terrible taste in my mouth. Plague jump on the and moo-ed. “I never traveled like that before, master never did,” I said guessing that what he was saying. He hoped down and start exploring. I heard a fluttering noise behind me I turn to see when what when a blur suddenly pass me. I jumped to the other side of the couch as it flew on top of the TV. It was a blue jay. I relax questioning why is there a bird but then called myself an idiot. She’s a Bird Witch of course she would have some bird, with that thought I heard and chip. I look to see a sparrow sitting on top of the comfy chair looking at me. It flew off the chair and landed on my bag in front of the door. Plague hop over to it and bark causing it to fly away throng the arch. A knocking sound caught my attention. I follow it to a woodpecker on the side of the bookcase. I heard footsteps follow by “I told you not in the house.” She shoo the woodpecker away from the bookcase. She turn towards me and smile “dinner ready.”
I follow through the arch into another room. The far right corner was notion but windows. On my close right was a pile of metal bins, on the left was a staircase leading up. A large table sat in the middle with 3 chairs on each side. I sat down in front of a place mat with eating utensils on it. She walk next to me and place a bowl in front on me and next to me. She walked around and put on in-front of the chair across from me. It was stew with meat chunks and carrots from what i can tell. It smells so good better than master. Pledge hop on the table and sniff the food before eating. “Hold on we need to pray for this food,” She told pledge. He stopped and groan but didn’t eat. She put her hands together and close her eyes. I did the same waiting for her to say the prayer. It was quiet but I heard soft mumbling. I open one eye to see her lips moving but couldn’t hear. “My you guide me,” She said loud enough. We began to eat and it was so good I wanted to savor it but my stomach was empty so I quickly finish the whole bowl. “Glad you liked it,” she smiles as she takes the bowls away. Plague looked at me and BA. “I don’t know pledge. For now we stay here till we can come up with a plan,” Still not knowing what he said I still try to guess. I bow my head down worrying what to do now. She walked back in and sat in front of me. “I suppose you want me to explain what happen right. I could do it now or do you want to wait till morning?” I look out the window to see the last bit of light disappearing behind the treetops. “Now a good time,” I look at her ready to listen. “OK lets start with my name, Mada.
“Your master and I went to the same school back when we were younger. She was a loner but not by choice. People were either afraid of here or jealous. I was the only one who would talk to her besides a few teachers. She didn’t act friendly at all but I knew she wanted me there. So even after we move to this world we still stay in contact.”
“Wait.” I interrupted. “What do you mean ‘this world’?” “Well we came from another world, a world of witches.” “So your saying there is a whole other world full of witches?” I can feel my eyes widen as my heart race. “She didn’t tell you any of this? I thought you were her apprentice.” She looked confuse and concern. “Yeah well she didn’t really teach me all that much just made me run around, tormenting me, trying to get rid of me.” I hung my head saddened by the fact there so much more she didn’t tell me. “I don’t know why she didn’t tell you but I do know she didn’t make you run around for no reason.” I suddenly look up waiting for an answer. “When we use magic it take energy, or stamina, to cast spells. If you don’t train your body you could end up severely injured or dead even.”She gave me an ensuring smile. I look down shocked but happy that she doesn’t really hate me. I smile as my heart swells with joy. Plagued barked at us causing us to look at him. He woofed at Mada. “Sorry got distracted,” She counties.
