Wild Clematis

Another one with blended colors contrasting with flat areas.  This one took four blocks: one for the flowers, leaves, and dark outlines; one for the vase; and one for the background.  The solid area at lower right was supposed to be on the flower/leaf/outline block, but got carved away by mistake; I was able to patch it in using a blank area on an old block.
The vine grows wild along the fence toward the back of the place, a mist of fuzzy white bloom in July.
12" x 7", on Rives BFK light weight paper.
I would have preferred a white, rather than creamy, paper for those white blossoms.  But all the white papers I've come across are heavy weight with a rough texture that requires a heavy layer of ink to avoid having little white specks instead of a smooth layer of color.  And those thick layers of ink build up and stay sticky forever.  If anyone can tell me of a good, smoother, whiter printing paper, not too expensive, I'd sure be glad to hear of it.  Torinoko, from McClains, is the best I know, but too pricey for me.
