Molly Blue 33

By cloudmonet
Sunset in beautiful downtown Hanatoa. The city offices are all closed, but that won't stop Molly. Be sure to check out Dave's Fine Foods if you're ever in town.

Hard to believe that this isn't earth. Of course, Station Square, one of the last 2 human cities on what was once earth, about 10,000 years in the future, looks perfectly like NYC, tho it's all underground ! (sky is holographic).

Nice perspective on the street. Might have benefited from a little shadowing since it is apparenty dark enough to see headlights on the street.

Shadowing? Hmm. I've made the panels gradually get darker from here through the mayor's house.

I frequently get blinded by truck and car headlights on sunny days! Maybe I'll turn down the headlight shine on the street in this panel.

Yeah, maybe it would be fun to do lighting effects like I did here for Kim and Ron—

But Molly's panels are a lot smaller than this Kim Picture, and there's a lot more of them, maybe 15-20 panels a week instead of one picture, so I had to come up with a style that's quicker to do. I'll take another look at this one.

Maby shadowing wasn't the right word. It just seemed to me that with the top pannel the poles and cars should have been casting long sunset shadows. By the way, Dave's Fine Food jumped out at me befor I read your comments. Finding good restaurants used to be my favorite hobby.

Ah, long shadows on a hill. Very tricksy. We'll think about this precious, yes we will. Of course, this means I'd have to commit to exactly where the sun really is, and therefore where Hanatoa is on the island. I guess it's on the west side, somewhere. Maybe it's time to draw a map. I usually have a map when I start a story, but not this time. It would be interesting to see if I can make one. The volcanoes around Kasima are fairly consistent, and I know which direction the lava flow's in from there.

Probably too early for a map. :) If you do one now you will just be updating it as you discover more about the island. :D
