Did you use this as a reference? You obviously didn't trace so don't take it as an attack, but if you did you might want to credit *Nijuuni in your artist comment, you know. Just to be polite. : )

I actually didn't.

The pose is basic, and flawed even at that, but done completely by sketch as this was intended to be just that. Afterwards, the only reference I used, for both colour and the way she appears is this photo, [link] .

I don't really see where my picture is similiar to Nijuuni's other than featuring the same character and being true to the character.

I think it looks alright. The linework looks pretty sketchy to me but thats just my biased opinion cause I really don't like sketchy lineart x_x (Though I'm a perfectionist lol ) Also I couldn't help but notice that the file, when downloaded, is HUGE. I would advise against this unless you're working on a big piece with many tiny intricate details (Such as a city scape) simply because the viewer isn't going to see it that up close most of the time, plus its not very necessary, especially on just a bust shot.

I think the coloring is looking clean but I personally would add a bit more contrast. The queen herself was pretty shiny so you might want to make more highlights and more shadows to emphasize those highlights. Also if I remember correctly the top halfof her body is more like her "skin" I guess, and here it looks more like clothing, so you might want to make it more fleshy looking, if you can. Anyways that's all I got. It looks like its off to a good start. ^^

I'm self taught as a digital artist, so I can understand how difficult it can be sometimes >.< If you have any questions feel free to ask. ^^

You are wonderful! <3

I am thinking about cleaning up the lineart real soon, because I don't even know if *I* like it that way. I didn't even mean for it to turn into what it is, or get as much attention as it has considering this is one of the first 5 gos at digital painting.

As for the file size, since I am still working on it is still in A4 size. Once I finish, I'm going to scale it and what not. (AKA I was lazy to do this for the WIP save :P)

As for her skin, I'm not really sure how to change that, I'm trying to learn, and this was just a go at it. I'm still looking for a lot of tips and help.

You were a big help, thank you for your time, I really appreciate it! <3

Well you might wanna downsize it now, because downsizing it later might make it look funny >.<

As for making it skin-like, just remember the differences between skin and clothing, even skin tight clothing. Skin has a different texture altogether. You could try maybe adding some freckly-scaley things, cause she was a Zora ghosty thing, right? I'm not too familar with drawing/colorings Zora's.. xD

Youre welcome. I am happy to help. :iconexciteplz:

AH. Btw. I have a skin coloring tutorial (*Forgot lol*)

It's for paint tool sai, but it still might help get the hang of things, maybe?

I like how you focused on her face and the coloring is just so soft. I also agree with *SoraDestati regarding everything else.

If you're using photoshop, using a multiple is a great way in adding in tone and smudge is very helpful for blending in the different tones or colors so that it appears more natural. Later adding dodge (not highlight) to make it appear a bit more shiny before adding in highlight, then smudging it again, so it looks more natural.
What I've loved when it comes to coloring skin, is that I always make another layer to overlay the skin, using a dominant color like for the Zora's I would us a blue-grey color (for TP) and not blue (OoT) and using contrast or just playing with the layering options. Later on another layer, I'd use white and use a size 10-14 brush, blur it, then make another layer and applying a single dot, half the size the original brush used.
Rutela is different from most Zora's, since she's made up of many colors and not just grey-blue. Blending each coloring with the other makes it appear more natural, you kind of did this with her face ;)
1. I use to color like this: [link]
2. I color like this now: [link]

The coloring is beautiful, but the shoulder looks off, I think it's too narrow.

Turns out I didn't even finish her shoulder. She had some weird thing on it, and so it looks different now. But I completely agree.
