I screwed up and didn't notice that it needs to be one pointy side up, one floppy side up. Hopefully I can salvage it. xD

I was trying to find something to make for my niece and nephews for Christmas and I ran across your pattern on Pinterest. I can't thank you enough; I'm making one for each of them in their favorite color. :)

you should know the pattern is flawed, the sides do not match up correctly and if you want it to be accurate i suggest taking two of one of the sides and editing on the head curl yourself as i did because mine kept turning out lumpy and with the limbs misplaced until i noticed this and fixed it

SO CUTE !!!!!!!!!
kaerimashou Featured By Owner Jul 28, 2015  Student
that pattern is really unfaithful to the chubby shape of a luma. mine turned out too tall and i did everything exactly by the book. now ill have to make my own pattern
LaloRiolu Featured By Owner Mar 13, 2016  Hobbyist
maybe more stuffing was needed to make it round/chubby like. I'll try this one next week, if i have problems could you help me with your improved pattern?

Cute! I wish to make one, too, but I don't have the materials. But don't worry, I think I could do it someday.

Thank you so much for this pattern. First ever attempt at sewing anything, as I very much have been wanting to learn for a while.
Learned quite a bit from following your pattern/tutorial, and now planning to try more complex things.

Thank you SO much for this pattern <3 I know this is really random since this was posted so long ago. I actually made this for myself, then made one for my cousins :) It's so brilliant~ Thank you!
JayVerti Featured By Owner Jul 13, 2014  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Okay I'm going to sound REALLY stupid, but how do you sew the eyes on without having leftover fabric stick out?
Sorry, I'm REALLY new to this!
MiniRockeuse Featured By Owner Jul 12, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
Made three of them, here is a picture of two of them (the third one is actually in another castle- errr house ^^) :…
Left one is my first plush ever, and I find it quite good thanks to you :) !

Can I ask what kind of stuffing did you use? I'm thinking about trying this out myself, starting with Luma.

Another question I'd like to ask is if this will fail if using another method than sewing. I've seen some DIY pillow/plushie makers on Youtube that have used glue instead of sewing, and I kind of think that would suit me better. But if you say that would ruin the plush, I'd go for needle and thread, as well.

this was extremely helpful, and thinking about making a few! <3
but one question, does it matter what kind of cloth you make the body?
does one work better than another? thanks again. :3
I love how your luma came out, btw. tis adorable

Hi, I browsed your comments and you gave permission to sell the finished Luma to others who asked. I am just double checking that you're still ok with that. I plan on making an army of Lumas (full sized and half-sized) to sell--made from your pattern at a local arts and crafts festival. I also set up an etsy shop that will have Lumas (MiddayMornings) (and other fun things). I gave you credit in the product info on the Etsy listing and will make a sign next to my Luma army at the arts and crafts festival. Does that work for you?

I'm not quite sure how to put it inside out on step 5, I tried to but it always ended up being only one side of the star only which was weird...any ideas on what I did wrong?
pumpkiyn Featured By Owner Feb 19, 2014
nvm, fixed it!

Hello, it seems very cute but I have a problem with mine : I am at step 4, and the two top of head are reversed, I can't sew it properly :(. The two parts are seems-out as it is said, but it doesn't work. Do you have an idea of what happened and how to resolve this issue ? Thank you ^^ !
clearkid Featured By Owner Jan 5, 2014  Professional Filmographer
Sounds like you sewed both pairs with the curl facing one side, when they need to face opposite directions to fit together.  Take one apart and flip the pieces over to sew on the other side.
MiniRockeuse Featured By Owner Jan 7, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
I finally managed to do it several days ago, but the other side of the fleece is worn out, too bad ^^'. One side is clean, the others is weary, but hey, he looks so cute anyway :3 maybe I will post it one day, when he will be fully stuffed and clean (lack of cotton *sigh*).
