One of the dolmen of the Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery.
I was so impressed by this place.
This is a B&W picture, I'll probably post the colour picture as well because I couldn't make-up my mind and decide which one.. -_-
"This is the largest cemetery of megalithic tombs in Ireland and is also among the country's oldest, with monuments ranging from five and a half thousand to six and a half thousand years old. Archaeologists have recorded over 60 tombs of which 30 are visible. A restored cottage houses an exhibition relating to the site."

Great picture!
Very nice in black and white. A very impressive site. Six thousand years ago the climate and environment might have been very different. To have moved such stones would have required a certain vision and confidence.

Have you been there? The place is really amazing. Slightly further than the town of Sligo, it was a good surprise to find this site: plenty of megaliths carrying old stories.
I've never been there, so I really enjoyed looking at the photograph. My personal reaction was, "If it had been me, I would rather have gone hunting than drag those stones around." Someone must have been a real motivator in that society. But I guess that's always the case, for better or worse.

Oui, je connais Lille un petit peu, j'y ai passé quelques jours

J'avais beaucoup aimé la partie vieille ville, c'est très sympa!
J'étais aussi allée sur la côte (Wimereux, je crois?) et me promener dans une forêt au sud de Lille (mais le nom m'échappe complètement)!

Le Vieux Lille est pour moi un des plus beau coin de Lille!

Dans les environs de Saint-Amand-Les-Eaux, peut-être? Pour la forêt?
