Although I am not vegetarian, or vegan, I do believe that all animals deserve a chance to survive and not have it taken away by a gun, or have their habitat destroyed by human interference. When it comes to eating meat, we try to eat very little of it, to make sure it's used in the best way possible. I was talking to a customer of the shop I work at about why they're vegetarian, and totally agree that the treatment of animals is horrific and unjust, where some are kept in cages with their freedom gone and no hope of surviving to live a good life. People who hunt or agree with hunting animals for trophy, always try to demonise them, saying that they are "horrible creatures". I've seen 2 wild Adder's in my life, one in Cornwall and the other at RSPB Minsmere, which was where I took that Little Egret picture you +faved, so thanks for that! D
There's a very interesting video on Youtube about the study of Adder's at Minsmere, and why their numbers are dropping across the UK. In the comments section a person had stated that they are vile and heartless monsters. These people genuinely believe that a species that has only killed 10 people in the past 100 years within the UK, is dangerous and deserves to be wiped out. I've encountered 2 of them, and they seem to be very laid back, and only hiss if they are surprised or greatly disturbed.
If you either live, or ever come to the UK, go to Minsmere on the east cost in Suffolk! it's a very nice place and if you're lucky, you'll see the Bittern. I didn't, but apparently they're there all year round!
