Thanks for the post.  I'm not sure on what you said, though.  First you claim we're descendants of apes, but then you bring up the "soul" issue, which technically refers to the Divine.  That said, animals can't reason, it's scientifically proven.

I personally don't believe they are to be held in equal status.  Many species of animals eat their young, kill eat other in order to survive, so I don't think we want to be equating ourselves with animals.  However, animal abuse is wrong and should not be tolerated.  In my opinion, however, if a decision needs to be made about which one should have priority, I believe it is the human.  If it comes down to saving my daughter or my cat, the cat loses.  Thanks for the post.

Do animals really have feelings? It seems pretty odd that when I pick up my cat, he could think ‘NOOO HUMAN! PLEASE STOP!’ In some weird language that I can’t understand.

Maybe they don't as we understand them, but I think you'd know if he didn't want you picking him up. The scratch marks would be a good sign. My dog remembers being kicked in the side and mistreated, and we had to slowly gain his trust, so that he "feels" safe. I reckon they're more similar to us than we think.

Caring for things that cannot speak up for themselves is the duty of the civilized human.  Even animals raised for slaughter are to be treated well, and it is heartbreaking to think of the pain visited on the helpless.  Your speaking out about this shows that you are a man of much integrity, I already knew you were intelligent.  Ti lodo!  Here is something I wrote about this - misterscribbles.blogspot.com/2…

Hello Why have you specified two types "Human-Animals" & "Non-Human Animals"? What do you mean by this? Why not just Humans & animals, You don't get a Non-Animal Animal Although you do Get Some Human Animals?

because humans are animals according to science and that therefore saying "humans and animals" isn't scientifically accurate..

Also we can't just say "non-humans" because then that would include plants, bacteria, fungi and viruses

which is why when we speak about non-human animals we use that term..we often say just nha for short..

there is a group in france that uses zoonimaux (zoonimals) and they also put zoo everywhere for example they talk about zoolocausts and other stuff..

Using human animals instead of just humans is a mean to remind the ppl listening or reading that they are animals too.. because humans have a tendency to want to forget it that we deem to be toxic and dangerous.

Most, if not all of my cats come from a rescue situation.
Jazz and Sprocket - filthy home with too many cats, borderline hoarding situation
Pearl and her six kittens - found her in our garage, pregnant, she had her six kittens a week or two later
Hemi - got him from a shelter; he's a black cat, so nobody wanted him
Coulson, Barton, Natasha, and Fitz - rescued from the wild, where they were all horribly sickly
William, Crystal, and Gem - gave them a home after a group of remarkable people rescued them from a hoarding house

All of our cats has a special story. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who cares so much for these animals. Thank you <3

I myself am actually a being whom is WAY more connected to nature (plants and animals) than to humans and human made things and laws. Whenever a forest around  where I live is cut down it will be as if I just lost some of my way older already dead family members all over again it is that painful for me. I actually would not care if humans were to go extinct because humans are the worst species of animals to ever exist! And plants and animals are the best thing to ever exist!

Although I am not vegetarian, or vegan, I do believe that all animals deserve a chance to survive and not have it taken away by a gun, or have their habitat destroyed by human interference. When it comes to eating meat, we try to eat very little of it, to make sure it's used in the best way possible. I was talking to a customer of the shop I work at about why they're vegetarian, and totally agree that the treatment of animals is horrific and unjust, where some are kept in cages with their freedom gone and no hope of surviving to live a good life. People who hunt or agree with hunting animals for trophy, always try to demonise them, saying that they are "horrible creatures". I've seen 2 wild Adder's in my life, one in Cornwall and the other at RSPB Minsmere, which was where I took that Little Egret picture you +faved, so thanks for that! D

Anyway...

There's a very interesting video on Youtube about the study of Adder's at Minsmere, and why their numbers are dropping across the UK. In the comments section a person had stated that they are vile and heartless monsters. These people genuinely believe that a species that has only killed 10 people in the past 100 years within the UK, is dangerous and deserves to be wiped out. I've encountered 2 of them, and they seem to be very laid back, and only hiss if they are surprised or greatly disturbed.

If you either live, or ever come to the UK, go to Minsmere on the east cost in Suffolk! it's a very nice place and if you're lucky, you'll see the Bittern. I didn't, but apparently they're there all year round!

It’s a shame how some view animals, taking away there homes by clearing out the forest. They don’t think how it can affect the animals there, Heck all of them. When one species die, another one may die if it can’t find another source of food or other animal’s populations will grow to be to high, and then they may eat all of the other animals or vegetation.

I love animals, I love them so much that it just hurts to see what we do to them. Some people put them through so much pain that they don’t trust humans anymore and see us as the bad guys, when some are just trying to help.

I hope in the future, someone does something. Or future people might not never see a lion in person, or Darwin’s fox whose population around the entire world is at like 200.
