Today I placed page 1 of my Dirge World comic.  It is intended to be a rough draft, but I don't even know if I will find the time to rework it to produce a better product.  I have to splice the page to together after scanning it (I draw it on 14" by 11" paper) and after tweaking a balance of contrast to brightness, I go about giving it simple color.  I was hoping that shading techniques would be easier, but I have quite figure them out yet.  After color, the lettering, man that lettering.  Just picking a font was a challenge and then placing the text boxes on the page was much tougher than I thought is would be.  I'm still not happy with t...

I have finally picked up Photoshop.  I just played around with it and colored one of my pictures.  It is a simple fill in the area work that took but a few minutes where I have another paint version that does look nearly as good that took four times as long.  I will be slowly changing my pictures over to color.  If have my druthers, I might even work on shading and FX as I learn the program better."Excuse me, the mads are calling."

I back online and I even have some new-ish gear.  I have myself a scanner (although it don't work so good) to get my pictures online.  I have also decided to add some of my writing to my page.  I have been working on the 'Scratched Mirrors' story for a few years now, but I can't tell if is any good.  So, I haven't been compelled to put much into as I know I'm not a strong writer.  This macabre tale is about a group of people on their way back to Seattle for Christmas back in 2005 (that's when I started writing it) and find themselves holed up a lodge not unlike 'The Shining.'  That is part one at least, for the story there are three parts ...
