- B - Everyday Life “Careful, careful...” Gabzryel said as he and Clara settled into place a new beehive. After a few grunts and messing around with the anchors, the two friends stepped back with satisfied grins. “So… where are the bees?” Clara asked him. “Well, first, I have to receive the queen that I ordered, and she’ll then attract the rest of them.” “Ooh, I like that!” “Of course you do,” Gabzryel teasingly grimaced, picking up the mess in the backyard. Clara joined him, clapping the dirt off of her jeans. “Speaking of queens, there’s rumours that you and Mad...” Gabzryel cut her off with a stare. She smirked. “Thought as much; I know you don’t pay attention, but I spend enough time around you to know that much.” “Well, as a proof, you and Alan do work together, and yet, that’s it.” “Oh, it’s not about work, it’s more that he’s way not my type,” Clara grimaced. She then gave him a playful bump; “But you are.” Gabzryel smiled, feeling his cheeks redden

† Nightmare Abraham crossed the maze of corridors, passing the doors. Luckily for him he had done this path… one? No, two… or... He didn’t keep count. But he knew which door to reach. When he finally grabbed the doorknob, he opened it very slowly and silently, and slid into the shadows of the dimly lit hall spreading in front of him. A hooded man was speaking to a tall, bald, and hideously scarred man seated upon the high throne. Their voices were nearly unintelligible, yet Abraham heard them clear in his fogged mind. “We’ve reached far past the deadline Redspear promised us, and yet nothing. His project failed, just like every other one.” “Do you wish that I find Virgillia for the wakening process, Your Highness?” “No. We’ve wasted enough resources and time upon this lie. Leave me, I’ll handle it. Contact the Monarch for an emergency meeting.” “Yes, Your Highness,” the hooded man bowed and left quickly. Abraham retreated into the shadows when the tall Prince rose and

- A - Old Friend “Hey, watch out!” Frank Cooper giggled as he drastically swerved his virtual steering wheel to avoid a falling street lamps. Billie mischievously giggled back, and skipped her virtual car close enough against more street lamps to make them fall on her pursuing cars, her father’s, and her twin brother’s; the latter didn’t swerved quickly enough and got stuck. “Hey! Not fair!” Anton shout back as he tried to reverse from the debris. “It’s you and me, Billie. But your dad’s the one driving you kids to school, so you can’t win over my driving prowess,” Frank teased her, catching up fast to her car and bumping her trunk. The doorbell rang, prompting from father and daughter a frustrated grunt. “Anton, since you’re way behind, press pause; our hands are kinda busy,” Frank asked his son. “Nope! You let me crash, so you do it!” Anton angrily retorted. They struggled for the commands while the doorbell rang again. “I’m coming, I’m coming,” Frank struggled to

- A - Paradox The alarms rang in Ka-dymyrra as gunshots reverberated within its walls. “Squad 07, warn the Prince that we have an intruder; Squad 04, 11 and 13, barricade the exits,” an officer ordered through his mental transmitter, leading on his own squad across a warmly-lit corridor, the candlelights reflected upon the obsidian walls and floors. A shadow flickered, and the soldiers opened fire… and hit nothing. Then as swiftly as the shadow flickered, a male figure appeared behind the squad and opened single-shot fires in the backs of two soldiers. The leader and the remaining soldiers turnabout and faced the intruder, but he was nowhere to be seen once more. Letting out a grunt of frustration, the leader resumed his team’s advance. Three more shots at their back revealed the intruder’s return, and then a silence once again greeted the returning firing. Calculating the short amount of time elapsing between appearance, the officer signalled his team to advance forward, but

- A - The Library Madzistrale and Tom opened their eyes and found themselves seated on a leather couch, surrounded by three more couches that stood around a big round table. Madzistrale gasped as she looked around, and she leapt from her seat, jumping joyfully. “We finally got back!! Tom, it’s Belladonna’s Library!” Tom looked at the rows of old books and the familiar scent of the Library lying outside of normal people’s knowledge, deep in the heart of the city of glass where the siblings had once changed history. “I wonder why we’re back, though,” he mused. “We tried to come back here for what, nearly a year?” “Must be because now we know that Ysadora and Abraham are involved,” Madzistrale reasoned. Movements within the rows sparked their attention, and as they rose, Belladonna emerged with a pile of books in her arms. She smiled brightly upon seeing the siblings. “Madzistrale, Tom, what a pleasant surprise! Well, since you’re there, could you help me with those, it’s

† The Stranger of Holy Sepulchre It was in the soft blue light characteristic of a four a.m. morning, when the air was still and full of the scent of night flowers, when birds sang their daily morning tunes, that Godefroi walked in the streets. It was in early morning that he could truly feel the presence of God. It was also a habit for him to wake at four in the morning, since most armies tried to attack early, surprising everyone in their sleep. He walked toward the only place he ever felt like visiting: Golgotha, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Although most crusaders were attracted by the Dome of the Rock, by its pure gold roof, and the mosaic and marble details of the temple, Godefroi was attracted by the purity of Golgotha. But most importantly, it was the spiritual meaning behind the Church; it was there that Christ died in suffering for the sins of humanity. Godefroi could never look at any other building the same way he did then with Golgotha. It was 'the one'; the only
