Fueled by no sleep and too much caffeine, I finally got around to checking my GIMP Script-Fu "actions". I've received many messages over the years that they no longer work.
The good news is that I cannot find anything wrong with them. The Script-Fu scripts are still compatible with the latest version of GIMP—that is 2.8.10 at the time of this writing. The bad news is that it took me like five years to get around to checking out the problem, LOL And here I was thinking that I'd have to relearn the scripting language.
One of the problems could be that the directory path for the scripts in version 2.4 was Program Files/GIMP-2.4/share/gimp/2.0/scripts, but now in 2.8 it is Program Files/GIMP 2/share/gimp/2.0/scripts. It's not a major change, but I can see if someone was thrown off by the new name.
The biggest change is how to refresh the scripts. Originally in 2.4 you went to Xtns > Script-Fu > Refresh Scripts, but in version 2.8 it is now Filters > Script-Fu > Refresh Scripts.
This does not mean that there haven't been any problems. Just none that I am aware of. There may have been a version of GIMP that caused incompatibility with the .scm files. However, if anyone does have an issue, please give me more info to work with than, "it doesn't work." For example...
Are the scripts not showing at all under the Filters menu?
Are the scripts visible, but there is an error when they run? Do you get an error message?
What version of GIMP are you running?
Keep in mind that these are just a few basic things I'll need to know to be able to troubleshoot any problems you may encounter.
- I updated the location for all of the scripts within GIMP. They are now found under Filters > Color Effects > "name of pack".
- The original files in deviations for Reminisce and Dawn on dA have been updated.
- Script-Fu Color Effects was renamed to Script-Fu Basic Color Effects to avoid menu confusion.
- Due to upload errors, Script-Fu Soft Effects, Script-Fu Basic Effects, and Script-Fu Basic Color Effects (originally Script-Fu Color Effects) have been uploaded as new deviations.
- Script-Fu Soft Effects, Script-Fu Basic Effects, and Script Fu Basic Color Effects have brand new, more in-depth readmes.

News and Stuff...
Figured I should update my journal. I've wanted to upload some of the pieces from 2013's calendar, but I haven't been able to get much rendering done. I've been waylaid by illness and post-holiday fatique (I ended up making ten knitted snowman ornaments for family, a crocheted fish bag for my niece, a knitted infant dress for my other niece, a crocheted lunch bag for my nephew, and a whole bunch of crocheted household items for a family white elephant gift exchange--all in the three weeks prior to Christmas; planning is not my strong area). Mostly I'm writing to let you know about my new Facebook page. I'll admit that I don't usually spend m
Today I received a Daily Deviation for Branched! This is a special DD, because it's an important piece to me, the fractal artist. Branched is a fractal over two years in the makIng. I'm glad my obsessiveness paid off! I want to thank SuicideBySafetyPin (https://www.deviantart.com/suicidebysafetypin) for selecting/featuring my work, and also for nudging me to post again on dA. Not that there was any drama about coming back, but as I explained in my last journal, life got in the way. Also, losing much of my rendered work left me devastated and reluctant to render again. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost all my parameters. Fo
Even longer time no update...
It's definitely been awhile. (Why does dA look different every time I stop by? Wow, the New Journal Entry page is completely different now.) I was contacted by SuicideBySafetyPin (https://www.deviantart.com/suicidebysafetypin) through Facebook that I had been featured on Inspiration Station. I was very surprised and touched by the response. (Though, wow, some of you pulled out some really old stuff, lol). I wanted to thank all of you who posted a journal entry about my work, as well as those who continue to use my guides and fave my work. :glomp: I sort of needed it with all the stuff going on right now. Long Time No Update
News So, I've been a little, ahem, busy lately and haven't been able to update my dA account. Plus, I'm on a really slow computer right now (which is driving me bonkers). It's taking forever to do much of anything. Hopefully, I can get the wireless adapter for my computer soon to jack into the house's main internet connection. Bear with me, please. It's going to take quite a bit of time to go through messages and upload some new pieces. Haven't been doing lots with Apophysis, but there are a few things to share. Financially, things haven't been so hot. We ended up leaving our apartment before we got behind on rent and have since moved
