(yea i hate eclipse too but I gave up and switched to it like last year lol)

I just know there are many of you who only follow me here, and I'm not the best at being active here, so I thought it warranted a full journal haha

So I haven't really drawn much lately, what with the current world events affecting my productivity, and my tablet being kind of difficult to work with in its old age. I've ordered a new tablet with the help Uncle Sam sent, so that will change soon, and for the first time I'm actually getting a legit upgrade instead of another $60 thing: I've ordered an XP Pen 22 Pro! Had a good sale on it, plus some Amzn gift cards, so it's a very exciting change. I feel like, workflow-wise, I've just completely outpaced non-display tablets. I'll try to fix up my little old Huion 1060 and possibly use it on the side or give it to a friend who doesnt need a serious tablet, but I am excited to finally upgrade to a display tablet!

I've been posting a lot more sketches and stuff on Twitter. I will continue to try to keep most sketches there and reserve DeviantArt for like 90% finished work, but I might post batches of cleaner sketches here and there just to increase my content.

I am also working on something very exciting: My first ball jointed doll! I've been posting snippets and struggles on Twitter, and I have compiled them onto a thread. Once I get to the point of starting to fully string and talk about production, I'll be posting more here (just cos idk dA just doesn't really work for me for WIPs) as well as creating a page on my website dedicated to dolls. I'm in the process of several personal projects that should start rolling out within the next couple years, but I don't wanna announce anything too early. Just keep your eyes out. ;)

I think that's all for now. I'll be moving commission information strictly to my website, and I think I'll probably start restricting ordering to Google Forms at some point, which I know would be unfamiliar to a lot of folks. If you are a commissioner and have issues with this, please let me know, but I'm going to DEFINITELY stop taking them in notes here cos.....well...the note system on dA is trash lol. I'm also probably going to start posting stuff on Pixiv and....maybe Mastodon?? IDK... I'll share links lol.

Hello! First of all I would like to say thank you for the continued support in my absence here, and hello to my friends who only see me here!

My last update here was dark and I have good news and bad news.

Good? I’m safe in Seattle! I’ve traveled overseas in my life but never LIVED outside of Texas, so, although I am currently technically homeless (but safely housed!!) I am adapting well enough considering my circumstances. I don’t recall how open I was about my last relationship outside of the GFM but I am now on the other side of a rather harrowing home life, and it has been very healing to be with my partner finally.

Bad? My cat Rocky didn’t make it. He was born in early 1999, and passed away from complications from a stroke October 17th, 2021. We were together from the beginning to the end, and although his death has shaken me, I am at peace knowing I cared for him the best I could and was able to tend to him diligently in the weeks following his stroke (he was diagnosed with carcinomas already so it unfortunately didn’t come as a huge shock) and held his head and paw in my hands, consoling him as he passed. It will be a long time before I feel normal again—22.5 years with him is the longest bond I’ve had with a living thing, even more than with my parents—but I’m thankful to have had the honor of caring for him in his life. His urn reads a couplet by McDonald Clarke “Night dropped her sable curtain down and pinned it with a star.” I’ll be making a memorial page on my website for Rocky when I have the time and spoons~ Rest In Peace little boy <33

I am going to start uploading my backlog, probably just in a batch or two, and I’d also like to say that I am accepting Chibi commissions. I’ll be posting the info on that soon.

Thank you again for always being supportive. I’ll probably always be more active elsewhere; I get weird notes here and as a website and service I HATE deviantart lol (I’ve used this website since I was 13 lol I’m entitled to my opinions on this) but that doesn’t outweigh my need to please lol.

Hey! I know I am not very active here these days and I apologize for that.

I do need to share, however, that I am in a dangerous living situation right now and on the brink of being kicked out by my abusive ex, with whom I have been living for about 7 years now and whom has been controlling me financially.

I have opened up a GoFundMe in hopes of at least helping with the costs of moving, and hopefully give myself a stable foundation and a new start.

If you can spare any help, I would be extremely grateful. If you cannot, even sharing this link will be immensely helpful as well.

I am in very dire straits and crowdfunding has been a last resort for me.
