Witch queen remake

Look, a background! I couldn't quite decide between the forest and her castle, so it became a sort of weird hybrid, I guess. At least it's something.

This is a remake of this:


Quite the difference, except that I still struggle with drawing clothes. Perhaps not so strange since I've almost only drawn faces for the past few years...

In Mearan, a continent on my constructed world, there are several magical forests, which function as safe havens for persons, creatures or species that might otherwise be hunted or threatened, or who might be dangerous if running loose elsewhere. There are dangerous magical creatures, monsters, humans, elves or other human-like creatures, there are rare animals and so on. But the forests themselves are dangerous too, particularly to outsiders. Each of them has a Guardian, who not only looks after the inhabitants, but also keeps an eye on the outside world. 
One such Guardian is Rhevôin, who is a powerful sorceress, and who came there for refuge herself. She is not overly fond of people, and is a ruthless and highly protective ruler. Her forest - a dark and frightening place if you're an outsider - is full of dark magic and dangerous inhabitants, so she needs to be. I once wrote a story where the protagonist had to enter her forest and steal back something. It did not go well.
