Portrait - a quickie by Ciuva Portrait - a quickie by Ciuva
This little pencil sketch has longed for being coloured for a long time now. I've started several times, and now that I wanted to do something quick and easy before going to bed, I decided to colour it. The original pencil picture is on top, it looks a bit sketchier but it preserves the feeling about it that I liked. It's one of my favourite portraits, for some reason. The gentle colours just fits her too. The hair is blocky - I was inspired by seeing statues on TV. Which is she? Statue or real? Is she even one of the two, or is she maybe both?

Not a character - yet - but before the book is done, she'll probably end up as one.

Colours in Painter IX, two layers (one for the sky in the background). Around 20 minutes. Didn't want to refine her to death...

she's very very pretty, something almost pure about her.

As you have said, the detail level is not as high compared to your other drawings. But still decently effective.

Thanks. I didn't, in a way, feel that much detail was necessary in this - I've tried to colour it before and completely lost what I felt made the drawing good.
