as someone who does go by they/them pronouns, it does generally make me feel happy when people use the right pronouns, it's okay but a little disheartening when people use the wrong ones by accident, but when someone uses the wrong ones on purpose, THAT is when the line is crossed and when I consider it to be rude.
Honestly, I can respect people requesting that you ask to refer to them as a he, she or "they." If people aren't intentionally getting your "pronoun" wrong, but they do get it wrong, I find it rude to get angry at them over that (especially if it was a recent change or if it's based on looking like the wrong gender). Still, I think everyone should at least attempt to get it right. All one can ask is that you try to make others happy.
Oh, I'm not mad at the person at all. I'm just annoyed with how confusing it is... I've thought about it too much, now it's just weird and stressful
I know how you feel because I was raised the same way. It's still confusing to me.
I think if people aren't being an asshole if you call them by the wrong pronouns initially, it's still nice to respect them and call them by what pronouns they prefer.
I know what you mean
Transgenders are really confusing at times
