Calcifer is cute.

I made him out of plastic water bottles and cellophane.
Once I had cut out the bottle to the desired shape, I took a cigarette lighter and curled(melted) the spikes to look more flame-like. I coloured it with copic markers.

He also has a miniature light inside that shines in the dark.

Steps:

2 colourless plastic bottles (Fanta bottles have a bulb-like shape)
Yellow cellophane
A pair of googly eyes
Cigarette lighter or something like it
 Copic markers (or maybe sharpies?)
 Optional mini torch/LED light

Have yourself two bottles: one big, one small (preferably smooth without ribbing). Cut the bottles using a box cutter and then scissors for precision. Heat the plastic spikes with a lighter so that they curl; keep the flame moving and don't be too slow or else the plastic blackens. After that, colour the bottles with Copic markers (yellow to red). Place smaller bottle within big. Scrunch some cellophane and stuff it into the middle bottle. Glue two googly eyes onto the 'bulb' of the big bottle. If you want, you can put a mini torch or LED light under the bottles for added effect.
