I created an account on Deviant Art because I love networking with fantastically talented individuals, and I believe that art is a very important part of our lives. Whether it's used as a means to express ourselves, be an outlet for what's going on in our brains, or simply a talent to share with the world - each person on here is uniquely talented.

I run a website called Cislunar, and it's an independent non-profit website that's a designated platform for artists, writers and musicians. It's my pet project, but I created it because I want to help promote people's life's work, and spread their message across the globe.

We have around 50 contributors currently, but I am always searching for more people to add to our cooperative.

If you write, paint, draw, photograph, make films, make music, basically create ANYTHING, send me a message! I'd love to see if you'd be a good fit for the cooperative, and work with you.

If you're more comfortable with email, I can be reached at

You can follow us on social media!

We're working on an original story for Cislunar called 'To Paint A World,' and it's written by C.L. Farinha. You can check it out here:…

Hey Everyone!

I'm going to post some of our FAQ's here for anyone who is interested in or has been asked to join the Cislunar project, in hopes to help further explain the project, it's goals, and what it's all about.

General Site Info

What is Cislunar?
Cislunar is a non-profit website that is paid for, maintained and managed by one sole founder, Anna (that's me!). I founded the project and launched the site on 08.08.18 as a way to help promote the art community - whether you're a writer, an artist, a photographer, a filmographer, a musician, etc. Arts are a vital part of our culture and environment, and since I'm not all-too-talented when it comes to art, this seemed the most viable way for me to help give back to the community, which I believe is so very important. You spend your life cultivating a talent and sharing your work, and the least I can do is help you along the way!

What's the point of Cislunar?
The idea is to continue promoting independent creators & as the site expands with content, we increase the audience for all of the projects that are included! My dream is for Cislunar to become a place for everyone. So no matter who comes to the site, they will find a piece whether it's a painting, photo, piece of literature, ANYTHING that resonates with them. That, and I really enjoy networking with individuals from around the globe.

How are the projects picked for the site?
I do most of my scoping for projects between Deviant Art, Instagram, Twitter (on occasion), Wattpad, Writer's Cafe and 500px. If I find an innovator who creates something that I find special, I will reach out to them and ask if they'd be interested in joining the cooperative. However, I am always open to submissions, and we do periodically have 'themed galleries' that showcase many additional artists who do not have full galleries on Cislunar. This is one of the ways that we can expand our reach!

Do you post anyone's work who submits it to you?
Not always (but do not let that discourage you!) - sometimes we receive submissions that are not appropriate for the site, have issues with demanding innovators who ask for more than we are able to provide, and sometimes the art is just not quite what we are looking for. HOWEVER: all submissions will be viewed by myself, and I will be sure to contact you back regarding your work, always.

For New Contributors

If I get asked to have a gallery on the website, what does that entail?
It's a pretty simple set-up for galleries, since all of them are similar in format. I will send you a list of 7 questions (give or take) and ask you the following.

  1. How would you like your artist name displayed?
  2. What country are you located in?
  3. Do you have a bio about yourself?
  4. What links (social media/website/shop/etc) would you like me to include for people to reach out to you/follow you at?
  5. In our 'contributor's' section of the site, we include a 'profile picture' of sorts for each artist. Would you want a real picture of you, or would you prefer to substitute a piece of your work?
  6. I like to post 3-4 images from the gallery on Cislunar's social media (Twitter, Facebook & IG) to help promote the work. Your name will be included on each piece, and if you have a corresponding account on those networks, I will tag you. Is this okay?
  7. Discussion over images used in the gallery.
From there, I begin creating the gallery on the site. Cislunar is very hands off for the artists, since I understand how crazy busy life can be, so I manage all of the posts, the work that's on the site, and promotional pieces. I will NEVER post the work anywhere outside of what we discuss, and if something came up I would like to use the work for (promotional pieces, collage, etc) I would ask for your permissions prior. I want to protect your art as much as promote it.

Do I have to do anything on the website as a contributor?
Nope, not at all! If you want to visit your gallery or check out the other contributors periodically, it would be greatly appreciated, but other than that - everything is handled by myself!

How long does the work stay on Cislunar?
Essentially forever - or until you would like the gallery removed. I will never argue over having a gallery removed, just send me a message letting me know you would like it taken down, and I will remove it - no questions asked!

Can I add new pieces to the gallery?
ABSOLUTELY! Just send me a message with the work you want added, and I'll get it posted! If there's enough content to create another album within your gallery, we can restructure it that way - that's no problem! Once you're on the site, you're family - and anything you need help posting/promoting in the future, I would be happy to help in any way that I can!

Does it cost anything for me to have a gallery on Cislunar?
Cislunar has been, and always will be, free to innovators of any type! I love networking and promoting work, it is not something I'm doing to make money from, just a way to give back to the community and spread the love.

Is there any type of work that will not be posted on Cislunar?
Since Cislunar attaches itself to a variety of artists and their work, I do have to make sure that the work does not fall into a few 'generally-viewed-as-offensive' categories. I will not post anything that is overly graphic (it takes a lot to be considered overly graphic in my book), anything containing hate-speech or themes of hate (towards a certain group of people, beliefs, etc.), or any overly erotic work (artful nudity is totally fine!). I do retain the final say in what gets posted on the site, but I will always let you know my reasoning for why. However, to date, this has not occurred, and I've never had to deny any artistic piece to the site for these reasons.

Is there a benefit to having my art on the site?
Well I certainly think so! All joking aside, I have had quite a few people reach out to ask if various artists on the sites have shops where their work can be purchased, along with artists on the sites starting to network with one another and create new projects. And I personally think that the more exposure to your work that you get, the better!

Contact Info

You can ALWAYS message me whenever you have a question, comment, idea, winning lottery numbers, inquiry, etc. I love getting mail, and would love to hear from you!

Thank you for reading, thank you for your time, and most importantly - thank you for being here!

Due to a recent interaction, I wanted to touch base with a few things regarding Cislunar and the website.

I run and maintain Cislunar by myself, and it is a project that is very dear to me. I wanted to find a way to use my knowledge of marketing and web design to create a place for artists where I can display their work and help to increase their audience reach. There is no monetization with the site, and it is not a business. It is strictly a website that I pay for out of pocket to keep running. Because I think the Arts are very important and I believe in the artists and writers that I reach out to.

I do retain the right with Cislunar to refuse to post works on the site for any reason; whether it is a message I do not feel comfortable representing, there are unprofessional contacts between innovators and myself, or I am asked to do something I am not capable of with the site. Unfortunately, events may transpire after discussing a gallery that make it impossible for me to continue working with an innovator. I never want to disappoint someone who wants to work with the site, but these things may occur periodically.

As of right now, Cislunar is still on a temporary hiatus, as I have become very busy with some projects and work in life, and as much as I dislike not being able to post features weekly, I have matters that need to be tended to. I apologize for anyone that this may be inconvenient for, it is never in my intention to disappoint, and I would never do so willingly.

I will be working as hard as I can to get back to Cislunar and back to features, and if anyone has questions in the interim, please send me a message.

Thank you,
I run and maintain Cislunar by myself currently and have had a lot of things come up in the recent future, so Cislunar is taking a very temporary hiatus from features, and we will be returning within the next week or two.

I just didn't want anyone to wonder if they go to the site and see that things have not been updated recently.

Thanks for your support, it means the world to me! I will be back with tons of new features soon! <3 <3
Cislunar is still seeking some help for events we are hosting in 2019! All are encouraged to apply.

The events range from galleries, to limited features, non-traditional holidays where writers are being sought, all sorts of things!

Feel free to look, share, or give a suggestion for anyone you think may be fitting! We hope to feature many different independent artists this year and make 2019 truly a year for the Arts!…
Happy 'Appreciate A Dragon Day,' everyone!

We have an all-new gallery on Cislunar, which just went live this morning, featuring artists from DA and their wonderful works that celebrate fantasy's well-known reptilian friend, the dragon!…

Thank you to all of the wonderful contributors who offered to make this possible, we couldn't do it without you!
Our last featured artist for 2018 is Feuerwicht & you can check out his gallery with Cislunar at: -- He was kind enough to include a piece that is exclusive to Cislunar! We think his gallery is the PERFECT way to end the year!

I would like to give a huge thank you to all of the talented artists from DA who have agreed to have their work showcased on Cislunar, along with those of you who have watched and supported our endeavor since we launched on 08.08.18. I have huge hopes for 2019, and am aiming to make it truly a year of the Arts.

Have a safe holiday, and thanks for being here.

Hey Arabella, for some reason the link… isn't valid any more. Do you know why?
cislunar-anna Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2019
Hey Helmut!
I had it active so you could see it, but I have it hidden from the site since I haven't attached the rest of the information yet (the contributor picture/added to the gallery section) but I will go and make it active again and update the additional information tonight so it is all good to go. By the time you read this, it will be back up and running.
Sorry for any inconvenience!
