March is going to be an exciting month! I've got my Viking helm set up, and it looks GORGEOUS! I can't wait to get on the field of battle wearing this...thank you Beorn for the aventail. It makes such a difference.
This month, I'll go over two lighting set-ups (one for the window light trick with Rafael, and one for a beautiful fine-art piece). I'll be sharing page 2 and 3 of Jorunn's Saga via Patreon (probably March 5th, once Patreon catches up with itself). These pages were probably the trickiest I'll have to deal with...it's a huge battle scene. Eeep! This month I get to try to work on setting the scene for Jorunn's introduction, and all her facial expressions. Is that something you all would like to see here? I know I share mostly modeling, but I have fun with different art styles too.
The first photo session with Rafael was pretty fun, since we made it look like direct sunlight was coming through a window! P.S. The day was cloudy and I don't get any good sunlight in my apartment. I have about 20 photos from the set, and I'll probably share 4 of them here and on Instagram. in the meantime, I just uploaded the first one here.
If we're lucky, I'll be able to share some of the Norse mythology set. It was more fantasy-esque than historically accurate, but it's still fun to play around with. I'll be doing a historical set as soon as I can, I just have a little more costuming to do! Araceli and I went out to a small Nature park that had some beach front, rocks and caves, forests, and fields, so we had a lot to work with. She's teaching me some editing tricks too, which is amazing!
Right now I'm at $25 of $55 for swordfighting lessons, so I'm getting closer. I'll just keep plugging along. In the meantime, I found some free practices (not with real swords though) with the SCA here. I can usually go to those 3-4 times a month, so I'm pretty excited about that. If the weather is good, I might check out a larger practice on Wednesday. Wish me luck!
There's a lot going on in March. February was a good month, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what adventures and epics March will hold!
P.S. Thanks for your feedback on the story in last month's journal. I loved it so much, and I'm glad that you thought the stories were fun as well!
